Correlation structure of the n statistic for chaotic quantum systems

چکیده
The existence of a formal analogy between quantum energy spectra and discrete time series has been recently pointed out. When the energy level fluctuations are described by means of the n statistic, it is found that chaotic quantum systems are characterized by 1/ f noise, while regular systems are characterized by 1/ f2. In order to investigate the correlation structure of the n statistic, we study the qth-order height-height correlation function Cq , which measures the momentum of order q, i.e., the average qth power of the signal change after a time delay . It is shown that this function has a logarithmic behavior for the spectra of chaotic quantum systems, modeled by means of random matrix theory. On the other hand, since the power spectrum of chaotic energy spectra considered as time series exhibit 1 / f noise, we investigate whether the qth-order height-height correlation function of other time series with 1/ f noise exhibits the same properties. A time series of this kind can be generated as a linear combination of cosine functions with arbitrary phases. We find that the logarithmic behavior arises with great accuracy for time series generated with random phases.

Latency Compensation in Multi Chaotic Systems Using the Extended OGY Control Method
The problem discussed in this paper is the effect of latency time on the OGY chaos control methodology in multi chaotic systems. The Smith predictor, rhythmic and memory strategies are embedded in the OGY chaos control method to encounter loop latency. A comparison study is provided and the advantages of the Smith predictor approach are clearly evident from the closed loop responses. The comple...

River discharge is among the influential factors on the operation of water resources systems and the design of hydraulic structures, such as dams; so the study of it is of great importance. Several effective factors on this non-linear phenomenon have caused the discharge to be assumed as being accidental. According to the basics the chaos theory, the seemingly random and chaotic systems have re...
متن کاملPerspectives on 1/f noise in quantum chaos
The power spectrum of the δn statistic of quantum spectra presents 1/f α noise. For chaotic systems α = 1 while for regular systems α = 2. Although the transition from regularity to chaos is non universal, for a wide variety of systems with a mixed phase space the value of α is intermediate between 1 and 2 and can be related to the fraction of regular or chaotic orbits in the total phase space....
متن کاملSpectral correlation functions for chaotic systems
The n-level spectral correlation functions for chaotic quantum systems are calculated by using a recently proposed scheme called the extended diagonal approximation (EDA). The EDA is a natural extension of the diagonal approximation, which was invented by Berry in order to semiclassically evaluate the 2-level correlation function. When the time reversal invariance of the chaotic systems is brok...
متن کاملSpectral statistics in chaotic systems with a point interaction
We consider quantum systems with a chaotic classical limit that are perturbed by a point-like scatterer. The spectral form factor K(τ) for these systems is evaluated semiclassically in terms of periodic and diffractive orbits. It is shown for order τ 2 and τ 3 that off-diagonal contributions to the form factor which involve diffractive orbits cancel exactly the diagonal contributions from diffr...
