Multipath Issues in Unicast and Multicast Next-Hop Selection
نویسندگان
چکیده
Various routing protocols, including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS), explicitly allow "Equal-Cost Multipath" (ECMP) routing. Some router implementations also allow equal-cost multipath usage with RIP and other routing protocols. The effect of multipath routing on a forwarder is that the forwarder potentially has several next-hops for any given destination and must use some method to choose which nexthop should be used for a given data packet.

Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Network Using Network Coding Based Multipath Routing Protocol For Multicast Network
Network Coding is most promising aspect of WSN. This Network Coding method is combined with multipath routing protocol to form NCMR protocol.(network coding based multipath routing protocol). This protocol is used to obtain energy efficient wireless sensor network.. These protocol leads to decrease the number of constrain routes & the total time of transmission. This protocol is applied on unica...
متن کاملA New Multicast Opportunistic Routing Protocol for Wireless Mesh Networks
Opportunistic Routing (OR) has been proposed to improve the efficiency of unicast protocols in wireless networks. In contrast to traditional routing, instead of preselecting a single specific node to be the next-hop forwarder, an ordered set of nodes (referred to as candidates) is selected as the next-hop potential forwarders. In this paper, we propose a new multicast routing protocol based on ...
متن کاملHop By Hop Multicast Routing Protocol ∗ Luı́s
IP Multicast is facing a slow take-off although it is a hotly debated topic since more than a decade. Many reasons are responsible for this status. Hence, the Internet is likely to be organized with both unicast and multicast enabled networks. Thus, it is of utmost importance to design protocols that allow the progressive deployment of the multicast service by supporting unicast clouds. This pa...

متن کاملAnalyzing the effects of asymmetric unicast routes on multicast routing protocols
Different multicast routing protocols construct their distribution trees based on the information obtained from the unicast routing infrastructure. Nevertheless, the design of most of these protocols do not take into account that unicast routes may be asymmetric. Indeed, unicast routes in the Internet are very asymmetric. The effects on the quality of the multicast trees vary according to the r...
