Passivity and L2 stability of networked dissipative systems

چکیده
It is well known that a negative feedback interconnection of passive systems is passive. However, the extension of this fundamental property to the case of negative feedback interconnection of dissipative systems, which is a more general case, remains largely unaddressed. In this paper, we demonstrate that a negative feedback interconnection of dissipative systems, under appropriate assumptions, could be passive or just L2 stable; we further propose a way to relax these assumptions. The case when there are time delays in communication is then addressed, and it is shown that under appropriate assumptions, the closed-loop system is passive or L2 stable for non-increasing time delays; moreover, passivity and L2 stability can be retained by inserting time-varying gains in the communication path provided a bound on the maximum rate of change of delay is known.

Passivity-based Visual Motion Observer with Panoramic Camera for Pose Control
This paper considers the vision-based estimation and pose control with a panoramic camera via passivity approach. First, a hyperbolic projection of a panoramic camera is presented. Next, using standard body-attached coordinate frames (the world frame, mirror frame, camera frame and object frame), we represent the body velocity of the relative rigid body motion (position and orientation). After ...
متن کاملA Passivity-Based Design for Stability and Robustness in Event-Triggered Networked Control Systems with Communication Delays, Signal Quantizations and Packet Dropouts
In this report, we introduce a comprehensive design framework for Event-Triggered Networked Control Systems based on the passivity-based concept of Input Feed-Forward Output Feedback Passive (IF-OFP) systems. Our approach is comprehensive in the sense that we show finite-gain L2-stability and robustness for the networked control system by considering the effects of time-varying or constant netw...
متن کاملEvent-triggered output feedback control for networked control systems using passivity: Achieving L2 stability in the presence of communication delays and signal quantization
When network induced delays are considered in the event-triggered control literature, they are typically delays from the plant to the network controller and a tight bound on the admissible delays is usually imposed based on the analysis of inter-event time to guarantee stability of the event-triggered control systems. In this paper, we introduce a framework for output feedback based event-trigg...
متن کاملThe Generalized Scattering Transformaton for Stable Teleoperation with Communication Unreliabilities
A teleoperation system allows the human to manipulate in remote/inaccessible/dangerous or scaled environments. From a control point of view, the haptic control loop, where motion and force data are exchanged between the master and the slave manipulator, is very challenging as it is closed over a communication network, e.g. the Internet. The communication network introduces unreliabilities such ...
متن کاملPassivity-Based Stability Analysis and Robust Practical Stabilization of Nonlinear Affine Systems with Non-vanishing Perturbations
This paper presents some analyses about the robust practical stability of a class of nonlinear affine systems in the presence of non-vanishing perturbations based on the passivity concept. The given analyses confirm the robust passivity property of the perturbed nonlinear systems in a certain region. Moreover, robust control laws are designed to guarantee the practical stability of the perturbe...
