Phase transitions for random walk asymptotics on free products of groups

چکیده
Suppose we are given finitely generated groups Γ1, . . . ,Γm equipped with irreducible random walks. Thereby we assume that the expansions of the corresponding Green functions at their radii of convergence contain only logarithmic or algebraic terms as singular terms up to sufficiently large order (except for some degenerate cases). We consider transient random walks on the free product Γ1 ∗ . . . ∗ Γm and give a complete classification of the possible asymptotic behaviour of the corresponding n-step return probabilities. They either inherit a law of the form ̺ni logi n from one of the free factors Γi or obey a ̺ n-law, where ̺ < 1 is the corresponding spectral radius and δ is the period of the random walk. In addition, we determine the full range of the asymptotic behaviour in the case of nearest neighbour random walks on free products of the form Z1 ∗ . . . ∗Zm . Moreover, we characterize the possible phase transitions of the non-exponential types ni logi n in the case Γ1 ∗ Γ2.

Asymptotics for Sparse Exponential Random Graph Models
We study the asymptotics for sparse exponential random graph models where the parameters may depend on the number of vertices of the graph. We obtain a variational principle for the limiting free energy, an associated concentration of measure, the asymptotics for the mean and variance of the limiting probability distribution, and phase transitions in the edge-triangle model. Similar analysis is...
متن کاملMagnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice
Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization, internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.
متن کاملAsymptotic Cost of Cutting Down Random Free Trees
In this work, we calculate the limit distribution of the total cost incurred by splitting a tree selected at random from the set of all finite free trees. This total cost is considered to be an additive functional induced by a toll equal to the square of the size of tree. The main tools used are the recent results connecting the asymptotics of generating functions with the asymptotics of...
متن کاملLocal asymptotics for the time of first return to the origin of transient random walk
We consider a transient random walk on Z which is asymptotically stable, without centering, in a sense which allows different norming for each component. The paper is devoted to the asymptotics of the probability of the first return to the origin of such a random walk at time n.
متن کاملTail Asymptotics for the Maximum of Perturbed Random Walk
Stanford University Consider a random walk S = (Sn : n ≥ 0) that is “perturbed” by a stationary sequence (ξn : n ≥ 0) to produce the process (Sn + ξn : n ≥ 0). This paper is concerned with computing the distribution of the all-time maximum M∞ = max{Sk + ξk : k ≥ 0} of perturbed random walk with a negative drift. Such a maximum arises in several different applications settings, including product...
