چکیده

In this survey we review the recently developed theory of anisotropic spaces and representations of functions based on anisotropic multilevel ellipsoid covers (dilations) of Rn. We also exhibit the relations of the ellipsoid cover approach to earlier concepts of anisotropic structures as well as to the framework of general spaces of homogeneous type. A number of open problems are presented and discussed.

On Anisotropic Triebel-lizorkin Type Spaces, with Applications to the Study of Pseudo-differential Operators

A construction of Triebel-Lizorkin type spaces associated with flexible decompositions of the frequency space R is considered. The class of admissible frequency decompositions is generated by a one parameter group of (anisotropic) dilations on R and a suitable decomposition function. The decomposition function governs the structure of the decomposition of the frequency space, and for a very par...

Dispersion of Torsional Surface Wave in a Pre-Stressed Heterogeneous Layer Sandwiched Between Anisotropic Porous Half-Spaces Under Gravity

The study of surface waves in a layered media has their viable application in geophysical prospecting. This paper presents an analytical study on the dispersion of torsional surface wave in a pre-stressed heterogeneous layer sandwiched between a pre-stressed anisotropic porous semi-infinite medium and gravitating anisotropic porous half-space. The non-homogeneity within the intermediate layer a...

Anisotropic Hardy Spaces of Musielak-Orlicz Type with Applications to Boundedness of Sublinear Operators

Let φ : ℝ(n) × [0, ∞)→[0, ∞) be a Musielak-Orlicz function and A an expansive dilation. In this paper, the authors introduce the anisotropic Hardy space of Musielak-Orlicz type, H(A)(φ)(ℝ(n)), via the grand maximal function. The authors then obtain some real-variable characterizations of H(A)(φ)(ℝ(n)) in terms of the radial, the nontangential, and the tangential maximal functions, which general...

Atomic and Subatomic Decompositions in Anisotropic Function Spaces

This work deals with decompositions in anisotropic function spaces. Defining anisotropic atoms as smooth building blocks which are the counterpart of the atoms from the works of M. Frazier and B. Jawerth, it is shown that the study of anisotropic function spaces can be done with the help of some sequence spaces in a similar way as it is done in the isotropic case. It is also shown that the suba...
