Mediascape: A Web-Based Media Space
نویسنده
چکیده
A mediaspace is an audio, video and computing environment that supports distributed groups in their daily tasks by providing awareness, communication and collaboration services. Building on previous work on the social and technical issues of mediaspaces, we have identified three important design principles: integrability, flexibility and privacy. In this paper, we show how Web standards and protocols can be used to create a software infrastructure and user interfaces consistent with these principles. We present Mediascape, our Web-based mediaspace, and videoServer, a component for digital video communication, and we show the benefits offered by this infrastructure to users and developers.

MediaScape : Towards a V ideo , Music , and Sound Metacreat ion
We present a new media work, MediaScape, which is an initial foray into a fully interdisciplinary metacreativity. This paper defines metacreation, and we present examples of metacreative art within the fields of music, sound art, the history of generative narrative, and discuss the potential of the “opendocumentary” as an immediate goal of metacreative video. Lastly, we describe MediaScape in d...

Also, during this campaign, ratings remained competitive among many print and broadcast media (Stelter & Pérez-Peña, 2008) despite the...
متن کاملChapter 9 WEB - BASED MEDIASPACE
This chapter addresses the use of the Web as a platform for developing mediaspaces; environments that combine audio, video and computing to support distributed groups in their daily tasks. It does not focus on transmission quality, latency, or packet losses. Instead, it shows how Web standards and protocols can be used to create a software infrastructure and user interfaces that offer accessibi...
متن کاملAdivasi Media in India: Relevance in Representing Marginalized Voices
Increasingly scholars are emphasizing the importance of community driven media such as indigenous media for foregrounding marginalized voices. However, not all the indigenous media across the globe receive adequate attention in discursive spaces such as Adivasi (indigenous) media in India. Consequently, little is known about these media, their characteristics and relevance, and such gaps essent...
متن کاملHigh Fuzzy Utility Based Frequent Patterns Mining Approach for Mobile Web Services Sequences
Nowadays high fuzzy utility based pattern mining is an emerging topic in data mining. It refers to discover all patterns having a high utility meeting a user-specified minimum high utility threshold. It comprises extracting patterns which are highly accessed in mobile web service sequences. Different from the traditional fuzzy approach, high fuzzy utility mining considers not only counts of mob...
