gar Dispensary on the 5tli December 1876. He stated that about two days previously, while he was ascending a hill, he fell down and hurt his right side which had since then become very painful. On examination the following symptoms were observed : ? He was very weak and emaciated ; countenance pinched and expressive of great pain ; skin dry and warm ; pulse small, weak and regular, beating 70 per minute ; temperature above normal; tongue moist but thickly coated with brownish yellow fur ; bowels costive ; no visceral complications. The attitude of the patient, was characteristic. He lay on his back with the leg flexed on the thigh, and the thigh on the pelvis.
