Fair Exchange with a Semi-Trusted Third Party
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present new protocols for two parties to exchange documents with fairness, i.e., such that no party can gain an advantage by quitting prematurely or otherwise misbehaving. We use a third party that is L‘semi-trusted”, in the sense that it may misbehave on its own but will not conspire with either of the main parties. In our solutions, disruption by any one of the three parties will not allow the disrupter gain any useful new information about the documents. Our solutions are efficient and can be based on any of several cryptographic assumptions (e.g., factoring, discrete log, graph isomorpbism). We also discuss the application of our techniques to electronic commerce protocols to achieve fair payment.

A Fair-Exchange Protocol Based on Off-line Semi-Trusted Third Party
The fairness of data exchange becomes a key factor for the transaction over the Internet. To ensure the fairness of data exchange, the protocol needs a trusted third party be a judge when the dispute occurs, and has to give a guarantee to main parties during the data exchange. To eliminate the third party’s connectional time and enhance its security, a fair-exchange protocol based on off-line s...
متن کاملA traceable optimistic fair exchange protocol in the standard model
An Optimistic Fair Exchange (OFE) protocol is a good way for two parties to exchange their digital items in a fair way such that at the end of the protocol execution, both of them receive their items or none of them receive anything. In an OFE protocol there is a semi-trusted third party, named arbitrator, which involves in the protocol if it is necessary. But there is a security problem when a...
متن کاملPractical Implementations of a Non-disclosure Fair Contract Signing Protocol
Contract signing is a practical application of the fair exchange of digital signatures. This application used to be realized by directly adopting the results of the fair exchange of signatures, which do not completely meet the requirements of the signing of a secret contract. The assistance of a trusted third party (TTP) and some cryptographic technology are required to allow two parties to exc...
متن کاملOptimizing One Fair Document Exchange Protocol
This paper presents an efficient fair document exchange protocol. The exchange of the documents will be between two parties. The protocol is based on the verifiable and recoverable encryption of a document’s key. This verifiable and recoverable encryption of the document’s key will allow one party to verify the encrypted key. It will also ensure this party that the Semi Trusted Third Party will...
متن کاملFair Exchange of Digital Signatures using RSA-based CEMBS and Offline STTP
One of the essential security services needed to safeguard online transactions is fair exchange. In fair exchange protocols two parties can exchange their signatures in a fair manner, so that either each party gain the other’s signature or no one obtain anything useful. This paper examines security solutions for achieving fair exchange. It proposes new security protocols based on the "Certified...
