چکیده
• AbstRAct

Yang-Monti Continent Ileovesicostomy: Experience with Three Cases
Mitrofanoff appendicovesicostomy has been the method of choice for dealing with urinary incontinence. However, there may be some cases where some alternate conduits have to be used. Yang-Monti ileovesicostomy is an alternative to Mitrofanoff appendicovesicostomy. Three boys who underwent successful Yang-Monti continent ileovesicostomy are reported in this manuscript. In the first case, Mitrofan...
متن کامل[Continent urinary reservoir using dilated renal pelvis of non-functioning pelvic kidney in a girl with cloacal exstrophy].
We performed construction of continent urinary reservoir in an 8-year-old girl with cloacal exstrophy who had double stoma of ileostomy and colon conduit. Preoperative evaluation revealed non-functioning right kidney with severely dilated renal pelvis and calyxes in her pelvis. Urinary reservoir was constructed using detubularized colon segment which had been used as the urinary conduit and dil...
متن کاملContinent urinary reconstruction in rhabdomyosarcoma: a new approach.
PURPOSE The authors present here 5 cases of continent urinary diversion in rhabdomyosarcoma applying a recently described technique for the Mitrofanoff Principle devised by the authors. METHODS Two previously irradiated rhabdomyosarcoma patients presenting with residual bladder disease and massive sensitive urinary urgency underwent a transverse colonic reservoir with catheterizable stoma. Tw...
متن کاملUse of the Mitrofanoff principle in urinary tract reconstruction : Experience with 122 children
Materials and Methods: 133 Mitrofanoff channels (100 appendicular, 31 ureteric and 2 Monti) were constructed in 122 children (93 boys and 29 girls) of mean age 6.3 years over the period from 1997 to 2005. The procedure was part of the reconstructive procedure in patients of neurogenic bladder (n=44), exstrophy-epispadias (n=40), posterior Urethral valve (n=30), and other diseases (n=8). Additio...
متن کاملMitrofanoff continent catheterizable conduits: top down or bottom up?
OBJECTIVE During augmentation and Mitrofanoff procedures, conduits are usually implanted into the posterior bladder wall. Anatomical considerations may necessitate an anterior conduit. To compare the relative drainage efficiency in patients with posterior and anterior conduits, we studied their rates of bladder stone formation and urinary tract infection (UTI). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrosp...
