Improved Cosmological Parameters Constraints from CMB and H(z) Data

چکیده
We discuss the cosmological degeneracy between the Hubble parameter H(z), the age of the universe and cosmological parameters describing simple variations from the minimal ΛCDM model. We show that independent determinations of the Hubble parameter H(z) such as those recently obtained from ages of passively evolving galaxies, combined with Cosmic Microwave Background data (WMAP 5years), provides stringent constraints on possible deviations from the ΛCDM model. In particular we find that this data combination constrains at the 68% (95%) c. l. the following parameters: sum of the neutrino masses ∑ mν < 0.5 (1.0) eV, number of relativistic neutrino species Nrel = 4.1 +0.4 −0.9 ( +1.1 −1.5), dark energy equation of state parameter w = −0.95 ± 0.17 (± 0.32), and curvature Ωk = 0.002 ± 0.006 (± 0.014) , in excellent agreement with dataset combinations involving Cosmic Microwave Background, Supernovae and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations. This offers a valuable consistency check for systematic errors.

H−ωo Diagram from Recent Cmb Observations Yes, We Can Already Say Something
The CMB is already one of the pillars of the Big Bang model. However it may also become our most powerful tool to distinguish contending models and to determine their cosmological parameters. To realize this goal, more than 20 observational groups and two new satellites are gearing up to make precise measurements of the CMB at small angular scales. In such a situation it is important to keep tr...
متن کاملCosmological Constraints from Current Cmb and Sn 1 a Data : a Brute Force 8 Parameter Analysis
We describe constraints on a " standard " 8 parameter open cold dark matter (CDM) model from the most recent CMB and SN1a data. Our parameters are the densities of CDM, baryons, vacuum energy and curvature, the reionization optical depth, and the normalization and tilt for both scalar and tensor fluctuations. We find that although the possibility of reionization and gravity waves substantially ...

متن کاملGamma Ray Bursts: Complementarity to Other Cosmological Probes
We combine recent long Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) sample including 52 objects out to z=6.3 compiled from Swift Gamma Ray Bursts by Schaefer (2006) with Type Ia Supernova (SNIa), Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and Baryon Oscillation (BAO) to constrain cosmologies. We study the constraints arising from GRBs alone and the complementarity of GRBs to other cosmological probes. To analyze the cosmolo...
متن کاملCosmic Confusion: Degeneracies among Cosmological Parameters Derived from Measurements of Microwave Background Anisotropies
In the near future, observations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies will provide accurate determinations of many fundamental cosmological parameters. In this paper, we analyse degeneracies among cosmological parameters to illustrate some of the limitations inherent in CMB parameter estimation. For simplicity, throughout our analysis we assume a cold dark matter universe with ...
