True three-dimensional camera

چکیده
An imager that can measure the distance from each pixel to the point on the object that is in focus at the pixel is described. This is accomplished by short photo-conducting lightguides at each pixel. In the eye the rods and cones are the fiber-like lightguides. The device uses ambient light that is only coherent in spherical shell-shaped light packets of thickness of one coherence length. Modern semiconductor technology permits the construction of lightguides shorter than a coherence length of ambient light. Each of the frequency components of the broad band light arriving at a pixel has a phase proportional to the distance from an object point to its image pixel. Light frequency components in the packet arriving at a pixel through a convex lens add constructively only if the light comes from the object point in focus at this pixel. The light in packets from all other object points cancels. Thus the pixel receives light from one object point only. The lightguide has contacts along its length. The lightguide charge carriers are generated by the light patterns. These light patterns, and thus the photocurrent, shift in response to the phase of the input signal. Thus, the photocurrent is a function of the distance from the pixel to its object point. Applications include autonomous vehicle navigation and robotic vision. Another application is a crude teleportation system consisting of a camera and a three-dimensional printer at a remote location. © The Authors. Raytracing and the camera matrix – a connection
In this section we derive the algebraic equations commonly used in the computer graphics technique of raytracing, where the simulation of geometric propagation of rays in an illuminated scene is used to produce highly realistic renderings of three-dimensional virtual scenes. Somewhat counter-intuitively, but for reasons of efficiency, in practical raytracer implementations, ray trajectories ori...
متن کاملSpectral Camera based on Ghost Imaging via Sparsity Constraints
The image information acquisition ability of a conventional camera is usually much lower than the Shannon Limit since it does not make use of the correlation between pixels of image data. Applying a random phase modulator to code the spectral images and combining with compressive sensing (CS) theory, a spectral camera based on true thermal light ghost imaging via sparsity constraints (GISC spec...
متن کاملEvaluation of dimensional changes and detail reproduction of three type IV dental gypsums
Background and Aims: Gypsum products are used for several different purposes. Adaptation and success of casting restorations are dependent on dimensional accuracy, strength, and reproduction of details of dental gypsums. This study was designed to evaluate the dimensional changes and accurate details reproduction of three type IV dental gypsums. Materials and Methods: 60 samples in 3 groups of...
متن کاملImprovement of Accuracy in Environmental Dosimetry by TLD Cards Using Three-dimensional Calibration Method
Background: The angular dependency of response for TLD cards may cause deviation from its true value on the results of environmental dosimetry, since TLDs may be exposed to radiation at different angles of incidence from the surrounding area. Objective: A 3D setting of TLD cards has been calibrated isotropically in a standard radiation field to evaluate the improvement of the accuracy of meas...
متن کاملA simple geometrical method of measuring anterior chamber dimensions.
Equations are described to derive the true anterior chamber dimensions of an eye from a photograph of its optical section. If the surface of the eye is assumed to be spherical, the three-dimensional coordinates of rays emanating from the anterior chamber to a camera can be transformed to two-dimensional coordinates on a plane, which contains rays both inside and outside of the "eye." The actual...
متن کاملCompressed Sensing Based Track before Detect Algorithm for Airborne Radars
This paper presents a novel compressed sensing based track before detect (CS-TBD) algorithm. The proposed algorithm reconstructs the whole radar scenario (direction of arrival (DOA)Doppler plane) for each range gate at consecutive scans using an improved stagewise orthogonal matching pursuit (StOMP) algorithm, resulting in a three-dimensional range-DOA-Doppler space. It then performs temporal t...
