چکیده

Balancing structured peer-to-peer graphs, including zone-size distributions, has recently become an important topic of DHT research [1], [2], [6], [20], [32], [38]. To bring analytical understanding into the various peer-join mechanisms, we study how zone-balancing decisions made during the initial sampling of the peer space affect the resulting zone sizes and derive several asymptotic bounds for the maximum and minimum zone sizes that hold with high probability. We use simulations to verify the model and compare the performance of the various methods using the example of recently-proposed de Bruijn DHTs.

TAC: A Topology-Aware Chord-based Peer-to-Peer Network

Among structured Peer-to-Peer systems, Chord has a general popularity due to its salient features like simplicity, high scalability, small path length with respect to network size, and flexibility on node join and departure. However, Chord doesn’t take into account the topology of underlying physical network when a new node is being added to the system, thus resulting in high routing late...

Effective Load Balancing in Overlay Chord & P Grid Networks

In structured chord & P Grid systems finding the successor nodes, Load balancing and dynamic routing are the challenging issues because nodes are heterogeneous and dynamically nodes may join the network or old node may release from network. We present a general framework, HiGLOB, for global load balancing in structured Chord systems. Current load balancing, finding optimized node and dynamic ro...

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks

Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...

The Server Reassignment Problem for Load Balancing in Structured Peer to Peer Systems

Application-layer peer-to-peer (P2P) networks are considered to be the most important development for next-generation Internet infrastructure. For these systems to be effective, load balancing among the peers is critical. Most structured P2P systems rely on ID-space partitioning schemes to solve the load imbalance problem and have been known to result in an imbalance factor of θ (log N) in the ...

A Load Balancing Algorithm Based on Replication and Movement of Data Items for Dynamic Structured P2p Systems

Load balancing is one of the main challenges of every structured peer-to-peer (P2P) system that uses distributed hash tables to map and distribute data items (objects) onto the nodes of the system. In a typical P2P system with N nodes, the use of random hash functions for distributing keys among peer nodes can lead to O(log N) imbalance. Most existing load balancing algorithms for structured P2...
