چکیده

The aim of the Hypercomputer project is to provide workstation users a transparent access to remote computing resources, which are provided by workstation clusters or special purpose computers. In this paper the resource management concept of the Hypercomputer is presented. The fundamental idea, which inspired the scheme, how resources in this resource management concept are propagated, is the model of the potential field. Like an electric charge induces an electric field, in this scheme each resource induces a resource field. An orthogonal classification enables a superposition without a mixing up of independant resources. This results in a set of orthogonal resource fields. Within such a resource field a resource is located with a gradient search.

You Don't Need a Hypercomputer to Evaluate an Uncomputable Function

I believe the human mind can evaluate functions so uncomputable that no machine, not even a hypercomputer, can compute them. But I believe that computers can evaluate such functions too, because computers, like minds, have other ways to evaluate functions that go beyond computing. If we allow them to use these ways – or, as I shall put it, to uncompute – they may be able to do things that only ...

Zeno Squeezing of Cellular Automata

We have recently introduced two new models of computations: self-similar cellular automata and self-similar Petri nets. Self-similar automata result from a progressive, infinite tessellation of space and time. Self-similar Petri nets consist of a potentially infinite sequence of coupled transitions with ever increasing firing rates. Both models are capable of hypercomputations and can, for inst...

Breaking the IDEA Cipher Using the Star Bridge HC-36 Reconfigurable Computer

The combination of traditional microprocessors and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) is developing as a platform for intensive computational computing. These “reconfigurable computers” combine the best aspects of traditional microprocessor front-end processing capabilities with the reconfigurability of FPGAs for computation-intensive problems. Star Bridge Systems’ HC-36 HyperComputer is a ...
