چکیده

Four groups of patients with AO, TAR and AA and healthy subjects walked two 50-m trials in hospital corridor and an ambulatory system composed of miniaturized inertial sensors and pressure insoles measured foot kinematics and 3D GRF. Then, moments and powers in ankle, midtalar and metatarsophalangeal (MPJ) joints were calculated via inverse dynamics. Force-plate and optoelectronic motion capture system were used only as reference for calibration and validation of the ambulatory measurements.

A wearable system for multi-segment foot kinetics measurement.

This study aims to design a wearable system for kinetics measurement of multi-segment foot joints in long-distance walking and to investigate its suitability for clinical evaluations. The wearable system consisted of inertial sensors (3D gyroscopes and 3D accelerometers) on toes, forefoot, hindfoot, and shank, and a plantar pressure insole. After calibration in a laboratory, 10 healthy elderly ...

Dynamic Analysis of Foot Models for Human Locomotion

Human locomotion dynamics has been a topic of interest since the past few decades. In many areas such as as humanoid robot design, gait rehabilitation, diagnosis of pathologies, prosthesis design, sport analysis, and motion cognition, the human locomotion is needed to be properly modelled. Dynamics of human locomotion, and the capability of implementing an accurate human gait simulation can be ...

Analysis of a kinetic multi-segment foot model. Part I: Model repeatability and kinematic validity.

Kinematic multi-segment foot models are still evolving, but have seen increased use in clinical and research settings. The addition of kinetics may increase knowledge of foot and ankle function as well as influence multi-segment foot model evolution; however, previous kinetic models are too complex for clinical use. In this study we present a three-segment kinetic foot model and thorough evalua...

Modifying the Rizzoli foot model to improve the diagnosis of pes-planus: application to kinematics of feet in teenagers

BACKGROUND A number of multi-segment foot protocols have been proposed to obtain measurements of clinical value. In the clinical assessment of foot pathologies and deformities, such as in the pes-planus, the frontal-plane alignment of the calcaneus and the dynamic properties of the medial longitudinal arch are critical parameters though often neglected by the majority of foot protocols. The aim...

A Multi-segment Foot Model Based on In-vivo and In-vitro Stereophotogrammetric Studies and Clinical Theories of Dynamic Foot Function: Walking Gait Reliability

Studies investigating walking gait have traditionally either modeled the foot as a single rigid segment, or as a rearfoot segment. While these studies have improved the understanding of foot function during gait, they assume the joints distal to the calcaneus do not contribute significantly to foot function. Recent, in-vitro [1] and invasive in-vivo [2] studies, however, suggest that significan...
