چکیده

Introduction: A new modelling method suited to the dual circular polarised 2x2 (MIMO) channel applicable to land mobile satellite (LMS) communications in line of sight cases is presented. In this scenario, it is necessary to apply correlated fading to the co-polarised and cross-polarised channels separately in order to model the evident polarization multiplexing in such channels found from measurement data. Comparisons between model and measured data for satellite elevations of 30 o are presented for validation. Influence of the vehicle interior on the channel model is also analysed.

Dual-Space Diversity over Land Mobile Satellite Channels Operating in the L and K Frequency Bands

Land mobile satellite communication systems at Ka/K band (30/20 GHz) are attracting more and more attention to researchers because of its frequency band availability and the possibility of using small earth stations and satellite antennas for the systems. However, the Ka/K-band communications also give significant challenges in the system design due to severe channel impairments expected from t...

A Small Low Profile Dual-Polarization Antenna for Indoor MIMO Systems

A pair of small and low profile dual-polarization antennas has been developed for miniature indoor base station under the MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology to restrain spatial correlation in LOS (Line-Of-Sight) channel environment. Both of the component antennas operate at 2GHz, it is expected to apply on IMT-2000 or LTE communication systems. The space volume is about W150×H120×...

Wide-band microwave propagation parameters using circular and linear polarized antennas for indoor wireless channels

This paper presents results of experiments using a variety of antennas inside several buildings. Path loss models are presented for the 1.3 GHz and 4.0 GHz bands, and indicate little difference in indoor path loss throughout the low-microwave region. Results show that line-of-sight (LOS) channels offer significantly more cross-polarization discrimination than obstructed (OBS) channels. A profou...

Adaptive antenna selection and Tx/Rx beamforming for large-scale MIMO systems in 60 GHz channels

We consider a large-scale MIMO system operating in the 60 GHz band employing beamforming for high-speed data transmission. We assume that the number of RF chains is smaller than the number of antennas, which motivates the use of antenna selection to exploit the beamforming gain afforded by the large-scale antenna array. However, the system constraint that at the receiver, only a linear combinat...

A new simple model for land mobile satellite channels

In this paper we propose a new shadowed Rice model for land mobile satellite channels. In this model the amplitude of the line-of-sight is characterized by the Nakagami distribution. The model provides closed-form mathematically-tractable expressions for the fundamental channel statistics such as envelope probability density function and envelope-squared moment generating function. The model is...
