چکیده

Constrained regression problems appear in the context of optimal nonlinear ltering, as well as in a variety of other contexts, e.g., chromatographic analysis in chemometrics and manufacturing , and spectral estimation. This paper presents novel mathematical programming algorithms for some important constrained regression problems in IR N. For brevity, we focus on four key problems, namely, locally monotonic regression (the optimal counterpart of iterated median lter-ing), and the related problem of piecewise monotonic regression, runlength-constrained regression (a useful segmentation and edge detection technique), and uni-and oligo-modal regression (of interest in chromatography and spectral estimation). The proposed algorithms are exact and ef-cient, and they also naturally suggest slightly suboptimal but very fast approximate algorithms, which may be preferable in practice.

Mathematical Programming Algorithms for Regression-Based Nonlinear Filtering in

This paper is concerned with regression under a “sum” of partial order constraints. Examples include locally monotonic, piecewise monotonic, runlength constrained, and unimodal and oligomodal regression. These are of interest not only in nonlinear filtering but also in density estimation and chromatographic analysis. It is shown that under a least absolute error criterion, these problems can be...

Effects of Mathematical Model of MR Damper on Its Control Performance; A Nonlinear Comparative Study

In this paper, the effect of mathematical representation method of an MR damper on the performance of control algorithm is investigated. The most exact and common Maxwel Nonlinear Slider (MNS) and modified Bouc-Wen hysteretic models are employed through a nonlinear  comparatve numerical study. In many of semi-active control algorithms, a mathematical modelling method is required for determinig ...

Shuffled Frog-Leaping Programming for Solving Regression Problems

There are various automatic programming models inspired by evolutionary computation techniques. Due to the importance of devising an automatic mechanism to explore the complicated search space of mathematical problems where numerical methods fails, evolutionary computations are widely studied and applied to solve real world problems. One of the famous algorithm in optimization problem is shuffl...

A heuristic approach for multi-stage sequence-dependent group scheduling problems

We present several heuristic algorithms based on tabu search for solving the multi-stage sequence-dependent group scheduling (SDGS) problem by considering minimization of makespan as the criterion. As the problem is recognized to be strongly NP-hard, several meta (tabu) search-based solution algorithms are developed to efficiently solve industry-size problem instances. Also, two different initi...
