_____________________________________________________________________________________________ Abstract— Mobile ad-hoc network is a network (MANET) of wireless mobile nodes (MNs) that communicate with each other without centralized control or established infrastructure. Routing protocols are divided into Proactive and Reactive. Proactive is a table–driven protocols. The proactive routing protocols use linkstate routing algorithm which frequently flood the link information about its neighbors. Reactive or on-demand routing protocols create routes when they are needed by the source host and these routes are maintained while they are needed. This paper proposes a solution for performance enhancement of VoIP and HTTP in Ad-hoc WLANs. This paper compares the performance of OLSR and GRP over different IEEE standards on the basis of delay, load, media access delay and throughput, GRP total traffic sent and received OLSR neighborhood change and draws a conclusion based on performance of the network over different QoS parameters.

WLAN 802.11e evaluation performance using OPNET
The low cost and easy deployment of Wireless LAN 802.11 standard means it becomes more and more popular, but it has a vital drawback with regard to Quality of Service (QoS). QoS defines the ability of network to introduce consistent services for data transmission, and is evaluated in terms of specific parameters such as jitter, delay, and packet loss. These parameters describe data traffic qual...

Seamless connectivity is need of next generation wireless network (NGWN). WLAN, WiMAX and UMTS are the main components of wireless network connected in integrated manner. These networks, each with its own characteristics, connected to a common IP-based core network to provide mobile user with seamless connectivity. One of the major issues for the converged heterogeneous networks is to provide s...
متن کاملProtocol Design Issues in WLAN
IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN) is the most widely used WLAN standard today, but it cannot provide QoS support for the increasing number of multimedia applications. Thus, a large number of 802.11 QoS enhancement schemes have been proposed, each one is focusing on a particular mode. This work summarizes all these schemes and presents current research activities. We are proposing in this work to ...
