Learning Feature Subspaces for Appearance-Based Bundle Adjustment
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present an improved bundle adjustment method based on the online learned appearance subspaces of 3D points. Our method incorporates the additional information from the learned appearance models into bundle adjustment. Through the online learning of the appearance models, we are able to include more plausible observations of 2D features across diverse viewpoints. Bundle adjustment can benefit from such an increase in the number of observations. Our formulation uses the appearance information to impose additional constraints on the optimization. The detailed experiments with ground-truth data show that the proposed method is able to enhance the reliability of 2D correspondences, and more important, can improve the accuracy of camera motion estimation and the overall quality of 3D reconstruction.

Closing the Loop in Appearance-Guided Structure-from-Motion for Omnidirectional Cameras
In this paper, we present a method that allows us to recover a 400 meter trajectory purely from monocular omnidirectional images very accurately. The method uses a novel combination of appearance-guided structure from motion and loop closing. The appearance-guided monocular structure-from-motion scheme is used for initial motion estimation. Appearance information is used to correct the rotation...

متن کاملImage Classification via Sparse Representation and Subspace Alignment
Image representation is a crucial problem in image processing where there exist many low-level representations of image, i.e., SIFT, HOG and so on. But there is a missing link across low-level and high-level semantic representations. In fact, traditional machine learning approaches, e.g., non-negative matrix factorization, sparse representation and principle component analysis are employed to d...
متن کاملA New Global Registration Algorithm for Image Mosaic
In this paper, we proposed a new bundle adjustment algorithm based on the distance minimization of feature matches, to eliminate the accumulated errors over a sequence for seamless mosaic. The new feature based image mosaic approach improved the stability of the global registration among images. Our experiments show that the new mosaic method is robust. متن کاملReal-Time Non-rigid Shape Recovery Via Active Appearance Models for Augmented Reality
One main challenge in Augmented Reality (AR) applications is to keep track of video objects with their movement, orientation, size, and position accurately. This poses a challenging task to recover nonrigid shape and global pose in real-time AR applications. This paper proposes a novel two-stage scheme for online non-rigid shape recovery toward AR applications using Active Appearance Models (AA...
