چکیده

The above article in Cancer Science (doi: 10.1111 ⁄ cas.12426), published online on 20 May 2014 in Wiley Online Library (http:// onlinelibrary.wiley.com/), has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal Editor in Chief, Yusuke Nakamura, and Wiley Publishing Asia Pty Ltd. The retraction has been agreed as Panels C, GLA 5, GLA 10 and GLA 20 shown in Figure 2 (Migration assay) all appear to have been taken from the same image, while Panels 1:Con, 2:GLA, 3:GLA + Anti-con and 4: GLA + Anti-miR-200c shown in Figure 7 (Migration assay) also appear to have been taken from the same image.

Retracted: Glabridin attenuates the migratory and invasive capacity of breast cancer cells by activating microRNA-200c

Current treatments for breast cancer, a common malignancy in human females, are less than satisfactory because of high rates of metastasis. Glabridin (GLA), which acts through the FAK/ROS signaling pathway, has been used as an antioxidant and anti-metastatic agent. However, little is known regarding the effect of microRNA (miRNA) on GLA's anti-metastatic activity. The miRNA-200 family, which is...

The Repressive Effect of miR-148a on TGF beta-SMADs Signal Pathway Is Involved in the Glabridin-Induced Inhibition of the Cancer Stem Cells-Like Properties in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Current standard practices for treatment of HCC are less than satisfactory because of cancer stem cells (CSCs)-mediated post-surgical recurrence. For this reason, targeting the CSCs or the cancer cells with CSCs-like properties has become a new approach for the treatment of HCC. GLA exhibits anti-tu...

Sulforaphane improves chemotherapy efficacy by targeting cancer stem cell-like properties via the miR-124/IL-6R/STAT3 axis

Gastric carcinoma (GC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. The efficacy of standard chemotherapy for GC, such as cisplatin (CDDP), is dissatisfactory partly due to the toxic/side-effects. Sulforaphane (SFN), which exhibits effective anti-cancer functions, is a phytochemical converted from cruciferous plants. Our present study aimed to identify whether SFN could en...

A case-control study on risk factors of breast cancer in Han Chinese women

This study aimed to investigate risk factors associated with breast cancer among Han Chinese women in northern and eastern China. A matched case-control study involving 1489 patients with breast cancer and 1489 controls was conducted across 21 hospitals in 11 provinces in China, from April 2012 to April 2013. We developed a structured questionnaire to record information from face-to-face interv...

Blockage of TGFβ-SMAD2 by demethylation-activated miR-148a is involved in caffeic acid-induced inhibition of cancer stem cell-like properties in vitro and in vivo

Current standard practices for treatment of cancers are less than satisfactory because of recurrence mediated by cancer stem cells (CSCs). Caffeic acid (CaA) is a novel anti-tumor agent that inhibits proliferation, migration, and invasion in human cancer cells. However, little is known about the functions of CaA in regulating CSCs-like properties and the potential molecular mechanisms. Here, we...
