چکیده

A51-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of an asymptomatic systolic murmur. Transthoracic echocardiography showed a large right atrial (RA) mass with intermittent prolapse through the tricuspid valve and extending into the pulmonary artery. On the preoperative transesophageal echocardiographic examination, a tumor with multiple strands was seen. One strand intermittently obstructed the outflow of the hepatic vein (Figure 1). There was apparent obstruction of the RA inflow and right ventricular inflow and outflow tracts by another strand.

Inferior vena cava leiomyosarcoma: vascular reconstruction is not always mandatory

Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) of inferior vena cava is a rare and aggressive tumor, arising from the smooth muscle cells in the vessel wall. A large complete surgical resection is the essential treatment. The need of vascular reconstruction is not always mandatory. It's above all to understand the place of the reconstruction with artificial vascular patch prosthetics of vena cave after a large resection...

Curative resection of leiomyosarcoma with resection and reconstruction of inferior vena cava

Leiomyosarcoma of the inferior vena cava (IVC) is a rare tumor, and it needs complete surgical resection for cure. In addition, the reconstruction of IVC is necessary in many cases. Herein, we indicate the case of a 57-year-old female with leiomyosarcoma in segment I of the IVC, which grew deep into vascular lumen. She underwent complete en bloc resection of the tumor and IVC reconstruction by ...

Resection of a malignant paraganglioma located behind the retrohepatic segment of the inferior vena cava

CASE PRESENTATION A large, malignant paraganglioma was found behind the retrohepatic segment of the inferior vena cava of a 60-year-old male. During resection of this rare paraganglioma, the left lateral lobe of the liver, a portion of the caudate lo...
