Learning from Data with Bounded Inconsistency: Theoretical and Experimental Results

چکیده
This paper presents an approach to concept learning from inconsistent data that foregoes a solution to the full-blown problem and instead considers a subcase, called bounded inconsistency. Data are said to have bounded inconsistency when some small perturbation to the description of any bad instance will result in a good instance. The key idea to learning in the presence of bounded inconsistency is to not only consider concept deenitions that correctly classify all the training data, but also those that miss some of the data by only a small amount. The approach is implemented using a generalization of Mitchell's version-space approach to concept learning.

A Stylistic and Proficiency-based Approach to EFL Learners’ Performance Inconsistency
Performance deficiencies and inconsistencies among SLA or FL learners can be attributed to variety of sources including both systemic (i.e., language issues) and individual variables. Contrary to a rich background, the literature still suffers from a gap as far as delving into the issue from language proficiency and learning style is concerned. To fill the gap, this study addressed EFL learner...

متن کاملInternal Consistency in Double Bounded Dichotomous Choice Contingent Valuation: Introducing Advanced Disclosure and Explicit Decision Rules in Sequential Learning Designs
One of the most commonly observed anomalies in Double Bounded Dichotomous Choice is that of internal inconsistency between the estimated values derived by single bounded and double bounded methods from the same data set. This paper introduces a simple bootstrap method to test the significance of such differences. We add to the idea that the willingness to pay (WTP) differences between Single Bo...
متن کاملtransaction cost and Time inconsistency in consumption- Savings behavior(experimental approach)
Empirical and experimental studies demonstrate that the rates of time preferences are smaller in long run in comparison with that of short run. In other word individuals are present bias; and it is one of the reasons that the saving is less than its optimal level. The aim of this study is to examine if the dearth of sufficient information results in time inconsistency in individual decisions fo...
