چکیده

A linear decentralized receiver capable of suppressing multiple-access interference (MAI) for asynchronous directsequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems with aperiodic random signature sequences is proposed. Performance bounds on this receiver are also obtained. Using them as performance measures, the problem of chip waveform selection in DS-CDMA systems with the proposed receiver under the near–far scenario is investigated. In particular, the performance of several practical chip waveforms is compared. An LMS-type adaptive algorithm is developed to obtain the parameters needed in the receiver, which only requires the signature sequence and coarse timing information of the desired user.

Performance of generalized multicarrier DS-CDMA using various chip waveforms

In this letter, we extend our investigation of generalized multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple access by considering two additional types of chip waveforms, namely, the time-domain half-sine and raised-cosine chip waveforms, in addition to the rectangular chip waveform. A range of closed-form equations are provided for quantifying the effect of both the multipath interference an...

MMSE detection in asynchronous CDMA systems: an equivalence result

The analysis of linear minimum mean-square error (MMSE) detection in a band-limited code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system that employs random spreading sequences is considered. The key features of the analysis are that the users are allowed to be completely asynchronous, and that the chip waveform is assumed to be the ideal Nyquist sinc function. It is shown that the asymptotic signal-to-...

Multiple-User Interference in FHMA-DPSK Spread-Spectrum Communications

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a neuroptimum receiver in a frequency-hopped multiple-access (FHMA) differential phase-shift-keyed (DPSK) spread-spectrum communication system. We obtain upper bounds on the bit error rates (BER's) for the chipsynchronous system and ihe chip-asynchronous system in the presence of a single interfering signal which interferes in one time-chip. We a...

Signature and Chip Waveform Designs for Asynchronous CDMA Systems

In this paper, the design of signature waveforms for asynchronous CDMA systems equipped with a correlation receiver is first considered. Optimal signature waveforms that minimize the average multiple access interference (MAI) at the output of a correlation receiver are found, while satisfying the constraint on available transmission bandwidth. Comparison to signature waveforms previously obtain...

CDMA overlay situations for microcellular mobile communications

Absmucr-Direct sequence code division multiple access commun-kations is a promising approach to cellular mobile communications , whkh operates in an environment characterized by mul-tipath Rician fading. In this paper, the CDMA network is assumed to share common spectrum with a narrowband microwave user. Because of the presence of the narrowband waveform, an interference suppression filter at e...
