چکیده

In this paper, we detail our WhiteDolphin agent that was designed for the Trading Agent Competition (TAC) Travel game. Specifically, we employed the multi-layered IKB framework to design our strategy, and describe the intricate cogs involved at the different layers in this complex decisionmaking process. We focus, in particular, on WhiteDolphin’s strategic behaviour when bidding in the different types of auctions involved in the game, and how the information and knowledge required to support the complex decisions made is gathered and inferred respectively. Finally, we empirically analyse our agent by considering its performance in the 2006 competition where it ranked third.

RoxyBot-06: An (SAA)2 TAC Travel Agent

In this paper, we describe our entrant in the travel division of the 2006 Trading Agent Competition (TAC). At a high level, the design of many successful autonomous trading agents can be summarized as follows: (i) price prediction: build a model of market prices; and (ii) optimization: solve for an approximately optimal set of bids, given this model. To predict, we simulate simultaneous ascendi...

Empirical Game-Theoretic Analysis of the TAC Market Games

ABSTRACT We illustrate developing techniques for empirical game-theoretic analysis by application to two challenging market games employed in an annual Trading Agent Competition. These games exemplify relevant environments beyond analytic tractability, yet which can be investigated experimentally through simulation and careful measurement. Our analysis of agents from the 2005 TAC Supply Chain M...

Bidding Algorithms for Simultaneous Auctions: A Case Study

This paper describes RoxyBot, one of the top-scoring agents in the First International Trading Agent Competition, TAC-2000. RoxyBot faced two key techn...
