Finding Object Depth Using Stereoscopic Photography

چکیده
Stereoscopic scenes of the mankind is naturally caused by synthesizing two images produced by the parallax of the two eyes of human. Such being the case, mankind can distinguish the relative position of the objects. In the study of related stereovision, some persons aim at the framework of taking simulated images with two eyes using one or two cameras from front and back or simultaneously at the same time to obtain a pair of parallax mages; someone pay more attention to the theoretical analysis of the relative positions of the parallax images, and some others do the work of using parallax images as material to carry out the job of image classification, comparison and analysis. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the distance between the objects and the camera in an outdoor environment using commercial digital camera.

Unsupervised Semantic Object Segmentation of Stereoscopic Video Sequences
In this paper, we present an efficient technique for unsupervised semantically meaningful object segmentation of stereoscopic video sequences. By this technique we achieve to extract semantic objects using the additional information a stereoscopic pair of frames provides. Each pair is analyzed and the disparity field, occluded areas and depth map are estimated. The key algorithm, which is appli...
متن کاملAn Evaluation of 3 - D Object Pointing Using a Field Sequential Stereoscopic Display
Experiments to measure user performance in 3-D object pointing using a field sequential stereoscopic display are described . First , huma.n performance in adjusting a random dot stereogram depth is measured to determine the possibility of pointing at a 3-D object. This experiment shows that the image displayed on the field sequential stereoscopic display can give enough depth information to its...
متن کاملEvaluating Methods for Controlling Depth Perception in Stereoscopic Cinematography
Existing stereoscopic imaging algorithms can create static stereoscopic images with perceived depth control function to ensure a compelling 3D viewing experience without visual discomfort. However, current algorithms do not normally support standard Cinematic Storytelling techniques. These techniques, such as object movement, camera motion, and zooming, can result in dynamic scene depth change ...
متن کاملEfficient Summarization of Stereoscopic Video Sequences
An efficient technique for summarization of stereoscopic video sequences is presented in this paper, which extracts a small but meaningful set of video frames using a content-based sampling algorithm. The proposed video-content representation provides the capability of browsing digital stereoscopic video sequences and performing more efficient content-based queries and indexing. Each stereoscop...
متن کاملDiscrimination of rotated-in-depth curves is facilitated by stereoscopic cues, but curvature is not tuned for stereoscopic rotation-in-depth
Object recognition suffers when objects are rotated-in-depth, as for example with changes to viewing angle. However the loss of recognition can be mitigated by stereoscopic cues, suggesting that object coding is not strictly two-dimensional. Here we consider whether the encoding of rotation-in-depth (RID) of a simple curve is tuned for stereoscopic depth. Experiment 1 first determined that test...
