Proximity and Josephson effects in superconductor - two dimensional electron gas planar junctions
نویسندگان
چکیده
The DC Josephson effect is theoretically studied in a planar junction in which a two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) infinite in lateral directions is in contact with two superconducting electrodes placed on top of the 2DEG. An energy gap in the excitation spectrum is created in the 2DEG due to the proximity effect. It is shown that under certain conditions, the region of the 2DEG underneath the superconductors is analogous to a superconducting region with an order parameter εg exp(iφ), where εg (εg < ∆) depends on the interface transmittance and the Fermi velocity mismatch between the superconductors and the 2DEG.

Charge and Spin Effects in Mesoscopic Josephson Junctions
We consider the charge and spin effects in low dimensional superconducting weak links. The first part of the review deals with the effects of electron-electron interaction in Superconductor/Luttinger liquid/Superconductor junctions. The experimental realization of this mesoscopic hybrid system can be the individual single wall carbon nanotube that bridges the gap between two bulk superconductor...

We report on the fabrication of highly transparent superconductor/normal metal/two-dimensional electron gas junctions formed by a superconducting NbN electrode, a thin s10 nmd Au interlayer, and a two-dimensional electron gas in an InGaAs/ InP heterostructure. High junction transparency has been achieved by exploiting developed process of Au/NbN evaporation and rapid annealing at 400 °C. This a...

A superconducting hard gap in hybrid superconductor-semiconductor devices has been found to be necessary to access topological superconductivity that hosts Majorana modes (non-Abelian excitation). This requires the formation of homogeneous and barrier-free interfaces between the superconductor and semiconductor. Here, a new platform is reported for topological superconductivity based on hybrid ...
متن کاملSpin-polarized proximity effect in superconducting junctions
We study spin dependent phonomena in superconducting junctions in both ballistic and diffusive regimes. For ballistic junctions we study both ferromagnet / sand d-wave superconductor junctions and two dimensional electron gas / s-wave superconductor junctions with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. It is shown that the exchange field alway suppresses the conductance while the Rashba spin-orbit couplin...
متن کاملAnomalous Josephson effect in p-wave dirty junctions.
The Josephson effect in p-wave superconductor/diffusive normal metal/p-wave superconductor junctions is studied theoretically. Amplitudes of Josephson currents are several orders of magnitude larger than those in s-wave junctions. Current-phase (J-phi) relations in low temperatures are close to those in ballistic junctions such as J proportional to sin(phi/2) and J proportional to phi even in t...
