چکیده

In this paper, genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed for the design of an optimization algorithm to achieve the bandwidth allocation of ATM network. In Broadband ISDN, the ATM is a highbandwidth; fast packet switching and multiplexing technique. Using ATM it can be flexibly reconfigure the network and reassign the bandwidth to meet the requirements of all types of services. By dynamically routing the traffic and adjusting the bandwidth assignment, the average packet delay of the whole network can be reduced to a minimum. M/M/1 model can be used to analyze the performance. Keywords—Bandwidth allocation, Genetic algorithm, ATM Network, packet delay.

Distributed Pricing For Embedded ATM Networks

This paper addresses the problem of bandwidth allocation in ATM networks. Users are assumed to place a bene t on the bandwidth they are assigned by the network. The network constraints are used to derive prices for the bandwidths which induce users to share the limited network resources according to their bene t functions. This formulation leads to a distributed pricing algorithm, which is inte...

Impedance bandwidth optimization of double slots circular patch antenna using genetic algorithm and the Interface Fuzzy Logic

A modified circular patch antenna design has been proposed in this paper, the bandwidth of this antenna is optimized using the genetic algorithm (GA) based on fuzzy decision-making. This design is simulated with HP HFSS Program that based on finite element method. This method is employed for analysis at the frequency band of 1.4 GHz- 2.6 GHz. It gives good impedance bandwidth of the order o...

Optimising Embedded Atm Networks

In this paper we discuss configuring digital cross-connect systems (DCS) to form an embedded logical asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network from a physical facility network. A DCS forms a channel, called a pipe, that connects two nodes. Configuration of these switches results in allocation of bandwidth to these pipes. The ATM network is modelled as a network of M/M/1 queues and the design of ...

Bandwidth Allocation Problem in ATM

We show that the Bandwidth Allocation problem in the ATM network model is NP-Complete. Based on that inference we suggest using the Genetic Algorithm technique to select a subset of calls from the set of incoming call requests for transmission, so that the available network bandwidth is utilized eeectively, thus maximizing the revenue generated while preserving the promised QoS.
