چکیده

We present a novel mathematical approach to model noise in dynamical systems. We do so by considering the dynamics of a chain of diffusively coupled Nagumo cells affected by noise. We show that the noise in a variable representing the transmembrane current can be effectively modeled as fluctuations in the model parameters corresponding to electric resistance and capacitance of the membrane. These fluctuations may account for the interactions between the membrane and the surrounding (physiological) solution as well as for the thermal effects. The proposed approach to model noise in a nerve fibre is an alternative to the standard technique based on the consideration of additive stochastic current perturbation (the Langevin type equations) and differs from it in important mathematical aspects, particularly, it points out to the non-Markov dynamics of transmembrane potential. Our scheme relates to a time scale which is shorter than the relaxation times of involved physiological processes. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Performance of Absorptive Material Liners on Noise Transmission Loss in Mufflers used by Goods Carrying Tricycles

Due to increase in the number of goods carrying tricycles, the amount of noise and pollution on our roads has increased. To optimize the control of the engine noise emission for tricycle, different absorptive material liners have been introduced into muffler design. In this study, the performance of Aerogel, Ceramic, Kenaf fibre, Polyester and Rockwool as absorptive material liners on the trans...

Modeling of Substrate Noise Impact on a Single-Ended Cascode LNA in a Lightly Doped Substrate (RESEARCH NOTE)

Substrate noise generated by digital circuits on mixed-signal ICs can disturb the sensitiveanalog/RF circuits, such as Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), sharing the same substrate. This paperinvestigates the adverse impact of the substrate noise on a high frequency cascode LNA laid out on alightly doped substrate. By studying the major noise coupling mechanisms, a new and efficientmodeling method is p...

Improving Data-based Wind Turbine Using Measured Data Foggy Method

The purpose of this paper is to improve the modeling of the data-driven wind turbine system that receives data from noise signals. Most of the data on industrial systems is noisely and data noise is inevitable and natural. The method and idea proposed in this paper, Data Fogging, significantly reduce the impact of noise on data-driven wind turbine system modeling, which is the basis of this met...

Stochastic Beamforming for Cochlear Implant Coding

Cochlear implants are prosthetic devices used to provide hearing to people who would otherwise be profoundly deaf. The deliberate addition of noise to the electrode signals could increase the amount of information transmitted, but standard cochlear implants do not replicate the noise characteristic of normal hearing because if noise is added in an uncontrolled manner with a limited number of el...
