چکیده
Metabolism of Terbufos in Rat Liver: JinTong LI, et al. Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Beijing, China, 100850—Biotransformation of terbufos in rat liver revealed four metabolites in the effluent prepared with a C18 cartridge after the rat liver was perfused for one hour in situ. Analysing the spectrogram of GC-IR and GC-MS, metabolite IV appeared to be an oxidative desulfuration product of terbufos with the formula C9H21O3PS2, the recovery of which in the effluent was 2.13%; metabolite I appeared to be an hydrolysate of metabolite IV with the formula C5H13O3PS, the recovery of which was 0.13%; metabolite II appeared to be an hydrolysate of terbufos with the formula C5H13O2PS2, the recovery of which was 2.65%; metabolite III appeared to be a methylate of metabolite II, with the formula C 6 H 15 O 2 PS 2 , the recovery of which was 1.42%. Relatively the recovery of terbufos was 40.8%. These results were in accord with the regular metabolic pattern in vivo of phosphorothioates with a thioether group. (J Occup Health 1999; 41: 62–68)

Imatinib metabolism and disposition in isolated rat perfused liver
Imatinib is an orally administered tyrosine kinase inhibitor which inhibits the Bcr-Abl protein-tyrosine kinase with high selectivity. Imatinib is rapidly absorbed from the gut, after oral intake and has an almost absolute bioavailability of 98%. The metabolism of imatinib is mediated by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoenzymes in the liver and gut wall. CGP74588 is a major active metabolite of ima...
متن کاملThe Interaction between Pesticide Use and Genetic Variants Involved in Lipid Metabolism on Prostate Cancer Risk
Background. Lipid metabolism processes have been implicated in prostate carcinogenesis. Since several pesticides are lipophilic or are metabolized via lipid-related mechanisms, they may interact with variants of genes in the lipid metabolism pathway. Methods. In a nested case-control study of 776 cases and 1444 controls from the Agricultural Health Study (AHS), a prospective cohort study of pes...
متن کاملEffect of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine on Liver CYP2C19 Enzyme Activity in Isolated Perfused Rat Liver Using Omeprazole Probe
Background and purpose: This study aimed at investigating the effects of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) on liver cytochrome 2C19 enzyme activity, which is a major liver enzyme in the metabolism of a wide range of drugs, using omeprazole as a probe of the CYP2C19 activity in isolated perfused rat liver. Materials and methods: This experimental study was done in 20 male Sprague–Da...
متن کاملChanges in Biochemical Parameters Related to Lipid Metabolism Following Lithium Treatment in Rat
Lithium is widely used in medicine as an anti-depressive drug. In spite of abundant literature, questions on the side effects of lithium ions are far from being answered. In this study, the effects of lithium on biochemical parameters related to lipid metabolism were investigated. Male Wistar rats were treated with different doses of lithium for a period of up to 60 days. Blood samples were col...

The present study was conducted to test the effect of Origanum Majoranum Extract (OME) of leaves on alterations induced in a model of type 2 diabetic rats. Adult male Wistar rats were fed high fat diet for 3 weeks and injected a single dose of streptozotocin (35 mg/kg) intraperitoneally to induce type 2 diabetic rats. Diabetic rats were given aqueous extract of OME in a dose of 20 mg/kg orally ...
