Fractional Populations in Sex-linked Inheritance
نویسندگان
چکیده
We study the fractional populations in chromosome inherited diseases. The governing equations for the fractional populations are found and solved in the presence of mutation and selection. The physical fixed points obtained are used to discuss the cases of color blindness and hemophilia. 87.10.+e, 42.62.Be Typeset using REVTEX

Identification of a sex-linked SCAR marker for Plecoglossus altivelis and its application for identifying gender in cultivated and wild populations
Ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis), one kinds of valuable cultured fish species, show almost no morphological difference between male and female until sexual maturity. Here, we report the identification of sex-linked markers for the ayu, based on Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) generated from cultured fish (15 males and 15 females) by using 63 different primer combinations. Genomic frag...

متن کاملCompetition Involving Dominant Mutants in Experimental Populations of DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER.
EARLIER papers (MERRELL 1953a, b; MERRELL and UNDERHILL 1956) explored the effects of competition between sex-linked and autosomal recessives and their wild-type alleles in experimental populations of Drosophila melanogaster. FALCONER (1960) has used data from one of these papers (1953b) to show the change in gene frequency under selection of a sex-linked gene, commenting that “there is no well...
متن کاملGenetic analysis of triploidy in a selected line of chickens.
We investigated the pattern of inheritance of maternal meiotic errors responsible for a high frequency of triploid progeny in a selected line of chickens. For the genetic analysis, F1 and backcross populations were produced from crosses between normal diploid individuals of the triploidy line and a control line. Triploid embryos were produced by 35% and 67% of reciprocal F1 females and by 24% a...
متن کاملGenomic signatures of sex-biased demography: progress and prospects.
Sex-biased demographic events have played a crucial role in shaping human history. Many of these processes affect genetic variation and can therefore leave detectable signatures in the genome because autosomal, X-linked, Y-linked, and mitochondrial DNA inheritance differ between sexes. Here, we discuss how sex-biased processes shape patterns of genetic diversity across the genome, review recent...
