چکیده

In this contribution the impact of a presumed presence or absence of the ionospheric delays on the quality of the least-squares ambiguities is analysed. The spatial correlation and the time correlation of the ionospheric delays are captured in an a priori ionospheric variance matrix. It is shown how the size and shape of the ambiguity search space is a€ected by the use of these a priori ionospheric weights. As a result an exact description can be given of the interpolatory character of the ambiguity variance matrix as function of the ionospheric weights. In order to give a qualitative analysis of the various e€ects, analytical rather than numerical results are emphasized.

Iranian Permanent GPS Network Receivers Differential Code Biases Estimation Using Global Ionospheric Maps

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...

Geometry-free Ambiguity Success Rates in Case of Partial Fixing

GPS ambiguity resolution is the process of solving the unknown cycle ambiguities of the carrier phase data as integers. It is the key to fast and high precision relative GPS positioning. Since unsuccessful ambiguity resolution, when passed unnoticed, will often lead to unacceptable errors in the positioning results, very high success rates are required for ambiguity resolution to be reliable. I...

On the sensitivity of the location, size and shape of the GPS ambiguity search space to certain changes in the stochastic model

In this contribution we analyse in a qualitative sense for the geometry-free model the dependency of the location, the size and the shape of the ambiguity search space on di€erent factors of the stochastic model. For this purpose a rather general stochastic model is used. It includes time-correlation, cross-correlation, satellite elevation dependency and the use of an a priori weighted ionosphe...

Precision, volume and eigenspectra for GPS ambiguity estimation based on the time-averaged satellite geometry

In this contribution we consider the timeaveraged GPS single-baseline model and study in a qualitative sense its relation with the geometry-free model and the geometry-based model. The least-squares estimators of the model are derived and their properties discussed. Special attention is given to the ambiguity search space, since it plays such a crucial role in the problem of integer ambiguity e...

Ionosphere-Free Phase Combinations for Modernized GPS

In this contribution, optimal ionosphere-free combinations for a modernized triple-frequency global positioning system ~GPS! are derived. It is shown that these ionosphere-free combinations are directly related to the model based on carrier phase observations only, in which the ionospheric delays are estimated. For this model and thus for the ionosphere-free combinations, integer ambiguity esti...
