چکیده
Suucient conditions for the convergence in distribution of an inn-nite convolution product 1 2 : : : of measures on a connected Lie group G with respect to left invariant Haar measure are derived. These conditions are used to construct distributions that satisfy T = where T is a reenement operator constructed from a measure and a dilation automorphism A. The existence of A implies G is nilpotent and simply connected and the exponential map is an analytic homeomorphism. Furthermore, there exists a unique minimal compact subset K G such that for any open set U containing K; and for any distribution f on G with compact support, there exists an integer n(U; f) such that n n(U; f) implies supp(T n f) U: If is supported on an A-invariant uniform subgroup ?; then T is related, by an intertwining operator , to a transition operator W on C(?): Necessary and suucient conditions for T n f to converge to 2 L 2 , and for the ?-translates of to be orthogonal or to form a Riesz basis, are characterized in terms of the spectrum of the restriction of W to functions supported on := KK ?1 \ ?: 1. Infinite Convolution Products and Refinable Distributions on Lie Groups
Sufficient conditions for the convergence in distribution of an infinite convolution product μ1 ∗μ2 ∗ . . . of measures on a connected Lie group G with respect to left invariant Haar measure are derived. These conditions are used to construct distributions φ that satisfy Tφ = φ where T is a refinement operator constructed from a measure μ and a dilation automorphism A. The existence of A implie...
متن کاملRefinable Functions with Non-integer Dilations
Refinable functions and distributions with integer dilations have been studied extensively since the pioneer work of Daubechies on wavelets. However, very little is known about refinable functions and distributions with non-integer dilations, particularly concerning its regularity. In this paper we study the decay of the Fourier transform of refinable functions and distributions. We prove that ...
متن کاملApproximation by Multiple Refinable Functions †
We consider the shift-invariant space, S(Φ), generated by a set Φ = {φ1, . . . , φr} of compactly supported distributions on IR when the vector of distributions φ := (φ1, . . . , φr) satisfies a system of refinement equations expressed in matrix form as φ = ∑
متن کاملDependence Relations Among the Shifts of a Multivariate Refinable Distribution
Refinable functions are an intrinsic part of subdivision schemes and wavelet constructions. The relevant properties of such functions must usually be determined from their refinement masks. In this paper, we provide a characterization of linear independence for the shifts of a multivariate refinable vector of distributions in terms of its (finitely supported) refinement mask.
متن کاملCompactly Supported Multivariate, Pairs of Dual Wavelet Frames Obtained by Convolution
In this paper, we present a construction of compactly supported multivariate pairs of dual wavelet frames. The approach is based on the convolution of two refinable distributions. We obtain smooth wavelets with any preassigned number of vanishing moments. Their underlying refinable function is fundamental. In the examples, we obtain symmetric wavelets with small support from optimal refinable f...
