Electrolytic resistance of the blood clot; resistance clotting time, onset of clot retraction and the clot resistance.

چکیده
I N THE previous paper a technique for the determination of the electrolytic resistance of the blood clot was presented (I). The present paper deals with the variations in the electrolytic resistance of the blood clot over a 40. to &-hour period, and with the physiological significance of certain measurements of the resistance. The curve of the resistance against time will be called the electrolytic resistance curve (E.R.C.).

A Study on Ratio of Loss to Storage Modulus for the Blood Clot
In this study the rheology of blood clot is measured with the help of rotational rheometer. Several shear strain (0.5, 1 and 2%) are applied with two frequencies (5 and 10 Hz) from the incipient time of clot formation and the response of the sample is measured with the form of shear stress and the phase lag which is interpreted with storage and loss moduli. In this study the ratio of loss to st...
متن کاملImpact of Tissue Factor Localization on Blood Clot Structure and Resistance under Venous Shear.
The structure and growth of a blood clot depend on the localization of tissue factor (TF), which can trigger clotting during the hemostatic process or promote thrombosis when exposed to blood under pathological conditions. We sought to understand how the growth, structure, and mechanical properties of clots under flow are shaped by the simultaneously varying TF surface density and its exposure ...
متن کاملPolyphosphate enhances fibrin clot structure.
Polyphosphate, a linear polymer of inorganic phosphate, is present in platelet dense granules and is secreted on platelet activation. We recently reported that polyphosphate is a potent hemostatic regulator, serving to activate the contact pathway of blood clotting and accelerate factor V activation. Because polyphosphate did not alter thrombin clotting times, it appeared to exert all its proco...
متن کاملEffect of exercise training on clot strength in patients with peripheral artery disease and intermittent claudication: An ancillary study
OBJECTIVES Patients with peripheral artery disease have walking impairment, greater thrombotic risk, and are often treated with exercise training. We sought to determine the effect of a 3-month-long exercise program on clot strength among patients with peripheral artery disease and intermittent claudication. METHODS Twenty-three symptomatic peripheral artery disease patients were randomly ass...
متن کاملThe role of platelets in blood coagulation--effects of platelet agonists and GPIIb/IIIa inhibitors studied by free oscillation rheometry.
We have studied the contribution of platelets to the coagulation of plasma and the effects of activation or inhibition of platelets on the coagulation process in unanticoagulated fresh whole blood (subsequently termed native blood). For this purpose, we have used a free oscillation rheometer (FOR), the ReoRox4, a new instrument that enables noninvasive viscoelastic measurements of clot formatio...
