MOBILE QOS -Technical Report
نویسنده
چکیده
QoS is essential, but for mobile environment, it is difficult to achieve QOS when compared to wired network due to poor communication environment and mobility problems. In this document we explore the prominent efforts done in literature to provide schemes to do QoS in Wireless. We especially concentrate on resource reservation schemes. This document addresses cellular network QoS (mobile user connection to cell base stations-shadow Cluster reservations) and Access network QoS from base station to access routers (MRSVP).

Scenario Description – MobVideo
This technical report describes a scenario with a video streaming application, called Mobile Video (MobVideo), designed for a QoS-aware mobile middleware platform. The middleware manages QoS on behalf of the application, by adapting both the application and middleware services to changes in the system context and resource load. The crux of the proposed solution is to let the mobile middleware d...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
متن کاملMeasurement and Analysis of Quality of Service of Mobile Networks in Afghanistan End User Perspective
Enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) and satisfaction of mobile phone user are major concerns of a service provider. In order to manage network efficiently and to provide enhanced end – to – end Quality of Experience (QoE), operator is expected to measure and analyze QoS from various perspectives and at different relevant points of network. The scope of this paper is measurement and statistically ...
متن کاملTowards Quality of Service-Awareness of Mobile Healthcare Services
Inevitably healthcare goes mobile – providing m-health applications to users anywhere-anytime, and relying their delivery on the best-effort Quality of Service (QoS) of the underlying wireless networks. We examine a technical and business viability of QoSinformation system (QoSIS), which, based on Mobile Web 2.0 paradigm, predicts the QoS provided by networks available in a given m-health user ...
متن کاملQuality of Service in Networks and Distributed Systems
Distributed multimedia systems are becoming more and more important in many situations of our daily life, for instance in office applications (video conferencing), learning environments (tele-teaching and tele-learning, virtual universities), or entertainment (online games, video-on-demand). Usually, some of the media types used in such an application have specific requirements on their transmi...
