چکیده

This paper describes the implementation of a differential Continuous Phase FSK (CPFSK) detector suitable for Low-IF receiver architectures. By using both in-phase and quadrature channels the double frequency term resulting after differential detection can be avoided. The digital detector assumes limited I/Q input signals which are 16 times oversampled. The proposed detector can be used for CPFSK with a modulation index in the range 0.28-0.5. Simulation results are given for a worst case situation in which the modulation index is 0.28.

Noncoherent Uwb Impulse Radio and Fm-dcsk: What Makes Them Different

For lack of empty radio bands, ultrawideband (UWB) radio system allowing reuse of already occupied frequency bands is the only solution to accommodate new wireless data communication services. Two types of UWB carriers are considered here, the frequency-shifted Gaussian pulse and chaotic signal with FM-DCSK modulation. A generalized model of transmitted reference systems is introduced first tha...

Auto-Correlation based Spectrum Sensing at Low SNR for Cognitive Radio

A challenging problem in Cognitive radio is that the secondary users in cognitive radios must be able to detect primary users under low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and dispersive channel. Spectrum sensing based on auto-correlation of the received signal samples being more prone to correlate under dispersive condition, has been investigated. Simplified theoretical expressions for probability of ...

We begin by introducing system-level block diagrams of AM and FM/PM modulators and demodulators, and explaining their respective principles of operation. In particular, under the topic of AM Mo...

Electromagnetic Radiation and Human Health: A Review of Sources and Effects

Radio Frequency (RF) engineers are faced many times with the following two questions: “What are the effects of radio waves on human health?” and, more specifically, “What health risks are associated with the use of cell phones, mobile radios, microwave radios, microwave ovens, broadcast radio and television transmitters, power lines and X-rays?” In recent times, many people have expressed an in...

MicroNote 703 Silicon PIN Diode and GaAs MESFET Switches and Their Effects On Linearity of Digital Communications Systems

The RF sections of Analog FM and Digital Radios primarily differ in the required linearity. If the transmitter amplifiers and attendant switching functions are not extremely linear, AM to AM and AM to PM conversion can cause serious deterioration of Bit Error Rate (BER) and an increase in intersymbol interference (ISI). Higher order QAM Systems such as 64-QAM and 256-QAM require even higher lev...
