Resonant driving and k-symmetry

چکیده
A particular type of`resonant' periodic driving of a symmetric dynamical system may cause the time-one map of the driven system to have a non-trivial root that possesses less symmetry than the time-one map itself. The latter phenomenon is called k-symmetry. Some examples and consequences to the dynamical behaviour are pointed out brieey.

Resonant activation in a nonadiabatically driven optical lattice.
We demonstrate the phenomenon of resonant activation in a nonadiabatically driven dissipative optical lattice with broken time symmetry. The resonant activation results in a resonance as a function of the driving frequency in the current of atoms through the periodic potential. We demonstrate that the resonance is produced by the interplay between deterministic driving and fluctuations, and we ...
متن کاملMultiphoton Antiresonance and Quantum Activation in Driven Systems
We show that nonlinear response of a quantum oscillator displays antiresonant dips and resonant peaks with varying frequency of the driving field. The effect is a consequence of special symmetry and is related to resonant multiphoton mixing of several pairs of oscillator states at a time. We also discuss escape from a metastable state of forced vibrations. Two important examples show that the p...
متن کاملObservation of Mollow Triplets with Tunable Interactions in Double Lambda Systems of Individual Hole Spins.
Although individual spins in quantum dots have been studied extensively as qubits, their investigation under strong resonant driving in the scope of accessing Mollow physics is still an open question. Here, we have grown high quality positively charged quantum dots embedded in a planar microcavity that enable enhanced light-matter interactions. Under a strong magnetic field in the Voigt configu...
متن کاملResonant and Non-Resonant Pieces of the D\rightarrow \bar{K}Ï• Semileptonic Transition Amplitude
We compare the resonant and non-resonant contributions in various regions of phase space for the D → Kπ semileptonic transition amplitude, computed in a chiral model which incorporates the heavy quark symmetry. Remarks on the significance for experiment and for chiral perturbation theory are made. Address after September 1, 1993, Physics Department, University of California, Irvine CA 92717
متن کاملThe Effect of Structural Parameters on the Electronic States and Oscillator Strength of a Resonant Tunneling Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector
In this paper a resonant tunnelling quantum well infrared photodetector (RT-QWIP) is discussed. Each period of this photodetector structure comprises of a resonant tunnelling structure (AlAs/AlGaAs/AlAs) nearby a quantum well (AlGaAs/GaAs). In this photodetector, photocurrent is produced when an electron makes a transition from the ground state of the well to an excited state which is coupled t...
