چکیده

Recent studies have established the importance of zinc as a biological constituent in human blood. Normal zinc levels for human whole blood, plasma, erythrocytes, and leucocytes have been established (1) ; significant deviations from the norm occur in leucemia and pernicious anemia, and, possibly, in sickle-cell anemia (24). Zinc concentration is considered an expression of the carbonic anhydrase content of erythrocytes (5). The method employed for zinc analysis in these earlier studies was accurate for samples of biological material containing between 2 and 30 y of zinc, with a standard error of about f10 per cent (6). Its usefulness for the study of blood is limited by the costly and specialized equipment necessary and by the small number of samples which can be analyzed daily. These objections to the earlier method have now been obviated by protein precipitation with trichloroacetic acid, making zinc quantitatively available for measurement with diphenylthiocarbazone. Zinc determinations, after ashing at 500” (6), have also been made on all samples so studied.

Preconcentration based dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for spectrophotometric determination of zinc in natural water and human blood after multivariate optimization based on Box-Behnken design

A new simple and rapid dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction has been applied to preconcentrate tracelevels of zinc as a prior step to its determination by spectrophotometric method. In the proposed method, 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol (PAR) is used as a chelating agent, and chloroform and ethanol are selected asextraction and dispersive solvent. The optimization strategy is carried out by us...

Determination of zinc serum in the workers of sarcheshme copper complex

Zinc is one of the essential elements in biological system. The role of this element in many enzymes has been proved. Zinc has an antagonistic effect on the toxic elements such as cadmium, as both binds to a carrier protein called metalothionein . Zinc can be found in atmosphere of different industrial environment. Due to its importance, it's concentration in the serum of 399 Male workers of sa...

Determination of lead chelated with ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid in blood after precipitation of protein with perchloric acid.

Cernik, A. A. (1970). Brit. J. industr. Med., 27, 40-42. Determination of lead chelated with ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid in blood after precipitation of protein with perchloric acid. A method is described for the determination of lead in whole blood containing ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid. Proteins were precipitated by 2-0 M perchloric acid. The ionized lead in the supernatant was chel...

The determination of blood-proteins by acid-acetone.

DURING the course of experimental work with various methods for the determination of total protein in blood-plasma and serum, an endeavour was made to weigh the protein resulting from precipitation with trichloroacetic acid followed by washing with alcohol and ether. The results, compared with the direct gravimetric method of Knipping and Kowitz [1924] as modified by Starlinger and Hartl [1925]...
