چکیده

In this paper, closed-form expressions for probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) at the output of the triple selection combining (SC) receiver over correlated Weibull fading channels in the presence of correlated cochannel interference (CCI) are derived. These expressions are used to study wireless system performance criteria, such as outage probability, average bit error probability and average output SIR.

Average Fade Duration for Dual Selection Diversity in Correlated Rician Fading with Rayleigh Cochannel Interference

The average fade duration (AFD) finds diverse applications in evaluation and design of wireless communication systems. This quantity provides a dynamic representation of the channel and presents the average period of time for which signal stays below a predetermined threshold level. In this paper, an infinite-series expression of AFD for dual selection combining (SC) diversity receiver, operati...

Effect of Microdiversity and Macrodiversity on Average Bit Error Probability in Shadowed Fading Channels in the Presence of Interference

© 2009 ETRI Journal, Volume 31, Number 5, October 2009 The detrimental effect of short-term fading and shadowing can be mitigated using microdiversity and macrodiversity systems, respectively. In this paper, implementation of selection combining at both micro and macro levels to improve system performance is analyzed. An assessment of the performance of such a system is carried out by consideri...

The Outage Probability of Multibranch Selection Combining over Correlated Weibull Fading Channel

In this paper, we analyze the outage probability of a multibranch selection combining (SC) based on the signal to interference ratio (SIR) over Weibull fading channels in case of non-identical power distribution per branches. Both, desired and interference signal envelopes are exponentially correlated Weibull random variables. Also, an analysis of effects of fading parameter β, correlation coef...
