The pneumatic practice pad

چکیده
The Pneumatic Practice Pad is a commercially available 10” practice pad that has been modified to allow for tension changes in a matter of seconds using a small electric air pump. In this paper, we examine the rebound characteristics of the Pneumatic Practice Pad at various pressure presets and compare them to a sample of acoustic drums. We also review subjective feedback from participants in a playing

Pneumatic Servo Bearing Actuator for Ultraprecise Positioning – Part 2: a New Approach to Ultra-precision Motion Control
INTRODUCTION Externally pressurized gas-lubricated thrust bearings (aerostatic bearings) keep the bearing clearance constant under a constant supply pressure. We investigated how controlling the supply pressure with an electro-pneumatic servovalve can be used to dynamically adjust the bearing gap height. As a result of our investigation, we developed an electropneumatic servo-actuator “pneumati...
متن کاملThe Effect of the Silicone Ring Tourniquet and Standard Pneumatic Tourniquet on the Motor Nerve Conduction, Pain and Grip Strength in Healthy Volunteers
Background: The pneumatic tourniquet (PT) is routinely used in upper and lower limb operations by most orthopaedic surgeons. The silicone ring tourniquet (SRT) was introduced in clinical practice the last decade. Clinical as well comparative studies in volunteers concerning its safety and efficacy have been published. The aim of this study was to investigate the postoperative effect of the si...
متن کاملMedical devices for restless legs syndrome - clinical utility of the Relaxis pad.
Restless Legs Syndrome or Willis-Ekbom Disease, a neurosensory disorder, can be treated with pharmaceuticals or conservatively. This review focuses on conservative treatments, more specifically on treatments with medical devices. Two modes of action, enhancement of circulation and counter stimulation, are introduced. Medical devices that use enhancement of circulation as their mechanism of acti...
متن کاملThe effect and acceptability of tympanometry and pneumatic otoscopy in general practitioner diagnosis and management of childhood ear disease
BACKGROUND Tympanometry and pneumatic otoscopy are recommended for diagnosis of otitis media, but are not frequently used by general practitioners (GPs). We examined how, after targeted short training, GP diagnosis and management of childhood ear disease was changed by the addition of these techniques to non-pneumatic otoscopy. We further explored factors influencing the uptake of these techniq...
متن کاملIntermittent pneumatic compression in stable claudicants: effect on hemostasis and endothelial function.
AIM Intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) increases systemic fibrinolytic activity but may also injure endothelial cells and thereby induce coagulation. The safety and utility of IPC in patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) therefore remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to determine whether IPC is associated with coagulation activation and endothelial cell damage, platelet ...
