Contrast enhanced MRA with CAPR (Cartesian Acquisition with Projection like Reconstruction) technique - review of initial clinical experience

چکیده
Background Contrast enhanced MRA is a well validated and widely used technique for noninvasive vascular imaging. Significant advances in coil development, parallel imaging, and view-sharing techniques can enable imaging with very high spatial and/or temporal resolution which can be tailored to very specific or problematic clinical situations. Cartesian acquisition with projection like reconstruction (CAPR) is a specific technique developed by our MR Research laboratory which supports very high acceleration factors and has been adopted into clinical practice for a number of clinical scenarios. We will present a brief introduction to the technique and an illustrative review of our early clinical experience using CAPR for clinical imaging.

Time-resolved angiography: Past, present, and future.
The introduction of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in 1980 provided a method for real time 2D subtraction imaging. Later, 4D magnetic resonance (MR) angiography emerged beginning with techniques like Keyhole and time-resolved imaging of contrast kinetics (TRICKS) that provided frame rates of one every 5 seconds with limited spatial resolution. Undersampled radial acquisition was subseque...

Introduction: Recently, computed tomographic angiography (CTA) has become widely used for lower extremity arterial runoff imaging, in part because of high spatial resolution and extended coverage obtained with continuous table movement during the exam. However, even with optimized technique, 2-3% of studies are nondiagnostic because of calcification, poor contrast opacification, or venous conta...
متن کاملNonconvex Compressive Sensing with Parallel Imaging for Highly Accelerated 4D CE-MRA
Overview: CAPR [1,2] is a state-of-the-art SENSE-type [3] parallel acquisition paradigm for Cartesian 3D time-resolved (4D) contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) that combines high-resolution calibration scans, custom coil arrays, and a flexible undersampled 3DFT sequence to generate diagnostic-quality images at acceleration factors of 10-40x. CAPR images are typically reconstructed online ...
متن کاملAccelerated 3D Time-Resolved MR Angiography using Cartesian HYPR LR Reconstruction
INTRODUCTION In many MR applications, it is desirable to achieve high spatial and temporal resolution at the same time, such as contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA). However, fully-sampled Cartesian acquisition for large matrices is extremely time consuming and precludes the simultaneous achievement of both goals. Several Cartesian undersampling methods, such as CAPR [1], TRIPPS [2] and va...
متن کاملInterleaved Variable Density Sampling with ARC Parallel Imaging and Cartesian HYPR for Dynamic MR Angiography
INTRODUCTION For MR applications such as contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA), it is desirable to simultaneously achieve high spatial and temporal resolutions; however fully-sampled Cartesian acquisition of large matrices is time consuming. View sharing combined with parallel imaging (PI) improves temporal resolution [1], as does incoherent under-sampling with compressed sensing (CS) [2] o...
