چکیده

In this paper we investigate the problem of allocating spectrum among radio nodes under SINR requirements. This problem is of special interest in dynamic spectrum access networks where topology and spectral resources differ with time and location. The problem is to determine the number of radio nodes that can transmit simultaneously while still achieving their SINR requirements and then decide which channels these nodes should transmit on. Previous work have shown how this can be done for a large spectrum pool where nodes allocate multiple channels from that pool which renders a linear programming approach feasible when the pool is large enough. In this paper we extend their work by considering arbitrary individual pool sizes and allow nodes to only transmit on one channel. Due to the accumulative nature of interference this problem is a nonconvex integer problem which is NP-hard. However, we introduce a constraint transformation that transforms the problem to a binary quadratic constraint problem. Although this problem is still NP-hard, well known heuristic algorithms for solving this problem are known in the literature. We implement a heuristic algorithm based on Lagrange relaxation which bounds the solution value of the heuristic to the optimal value of the constraint transformed problem. Simulation results show that this approach provides solutions within an average gap of 10% of solutions obtained by a genetic algorithm for the original nonconvex integer problem.

Qos-aware Spectrum Sharing for Multi-channel Vehicular Network

--We consider QoS -aware band sharing in cognitive wireless networks where secondary users are allowed to access the band owned by a primary network provider. The intrusion from secondary users to primary users is forced to be below the tolerable limit. Also, signal to intrusion plus noise ratio (SINR) of each secondary user is maintained higher than a required level for QoS cover. When network...

Distributed Relay Beamforming in Cognitive Two-Way Networks: SINR Balancing Approach

In this paper, we study the problem of distributed relay beamforming for a bidirectional cognitive relay network which consists of two secondary transceivers and K ognitive relay nodes and a primary network with a transmitter and receiver, using underlay model. For effective use of spectrum, we propose a Multiple Access Broadcasting (MABC) two-way relaying scheme for cognitive networks. The two...

Mixed Power Control Strategies for Cognitive Radio Networks under SINR and Interference Temperature Constraints

Without consideration of the minimum signal-tointerference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and frequent information exchange, traditional power control algorithms can not always satisfy SINR requirements of secondary users (SUs) and primary users (PUs) in cognitive radio networks. In this paper, a distributed power control problem for maximizing total throughput of SUs is studied subject to the SINR co...

Worst-Case Cooperative Jamming for Secure Communications in CIoT Networks

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a significant branch of the ongoing advances in the Internet and mobile communications. The use of a large number of IoT devices makes the spectrum scarcity problem even more serious. The usable spectrum resources are almost entirely occupied, and thus, the increasing radio access demands of IoT devices cannot be met. To tackle this problem, the Cognitive Interne...

Auction-Based Throughput Maximization in Cognitive Radio Networks Under Interference Constraint

Cognitive radio is an emerging technique to improve the utilization of radio frequency spectrum in wireless communication networks. That is, spectrum efficiency can be increased significantly by giving opportunistic access of the frequency bands to a group of cognitive users to whom the band has not been licensed. In this paper, as a cross layer application (MAC and physical layers) of graph th...
