Flood-it on AT-Free Graphs

چکیده
Solitaire Flood-it, orHoney-Bee, is a game played on a colored graph. The player resides in a source vertex. Originally his territory is the maximal connected, monochromatic subgraph that contains the source. A move consists of calling a color. This conquers all the nodes of the graph that can be reached by a monochromatic path of that color from the current territory of the player. It is the aim of the player to add all vertices to his territory in a minimal number of moves. We show that the minimal number of moves can be computed in polynomial time when the game is played on AT-free graphs.

Flooding games on graphs
We study a discrete di usion process introduced in some combinatorial puzzles called Flood-It, Mad Virus or HoneyBee that can be played online and whose computational complexities have recently been studied. Originally de ned on regular boards, we show that studying their dynamics directly on general graphs is valuable: we synthesize and extend previous results, we show how to solve Flood-It on...
متن کاملOn the edge-connectivity of C_4-free graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ and minimum degree $delta(G)$.The edge-connectivity $lambda(G)$ of $G$ is the minimum numberof edges whose removal renders $G$ disconnected. It is well-known that$lambda(G) leq delta(G)$,and if $lambda(G)=delta(G)$, then$G$ is said to be maximally edge-connected. A classical resultby Chartrand gives the sufficient condition $delta(G) geq frac{n-1}{2}$fo...
متن کاملMatching Integral Graphs of Small Order
In this paper, we study matching integral graphs of small order. A graph is called matching integral if the zeros of its matching polynomial are all integers. Matching integral graphs were first studied by Akbari, Khalashi, etc. They characterized all traceable graphs which are matching integral. They studied matching integral regular graphs. Furthermore, it has been shown that there is no matc...
متن کامل2-FREE-FLOOD-IT is polynomial
We study a discrete diffusion process introduced in some combinatorial games called FLOODIT and MADVIRUS that can be played online [1, 2] and whose computational complexity has been recently studied [3, 4]. The flooding dynamics used in those games can be defined for any colored graph. It is shown in [5] that studying this dynamics directly on general graph is a valuable approach to understand ...
متن کاملThe complexity of flood-filling games on graphs
We consider the complexity of problems related to the combinatorial game Free-Flood-It, in which players aim to make a coloured graph monochromatic with the minimum possible number of flooding operations. Although computing the minimum number of moves required to flood an arbitrary graph is known to be NP-hard, we demonstrate a polynomial time algorithm to compute the minimum number of moves re...
