چکیده

The temperature correction to the Einstein action is considered which does not depend on the Planck energy physics. The leading correction may be interpreted in terms of the temperature dependent effective gravitational and cosmological constants. The correction to the gravitational constant appears to be valid for all temperatures T ≪ EPlanck. It is universal since it is determined only by the number of fermionic and bosonic fields with masses m ≪ T . This universal modification of the gravitational action can be used to study thermodynamics of quantum systems in condensed matter (such as quantum

Semiclassical Corrections to a Static Bose-Einstein Condensate at Zero Temperature

In the mean-field approximation, a trapped Bose-Einstein condensate at zero temperature is described by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for the condensate, or equivalently, by the hydrodynamic equations for the number density and the current density. These equations receive corrections from quantum field fluctuations around the mean field. We calculate the semiclassical corrections to these equat...

Quantum Corrections to a Static Bose-Einstein Condensate at Zero Temperature

A previous calculation of the leading corrections from quantum field fluctuations to the ground state of a trapped Bose-Einstein condensate at zero temperature is extended to general time-independent states, including vortex states. The calculation is streamlined by using dimensional regularization to regularize both ultraviolet and infrared divergences. We calculate the leading quantum correct...

Einstein equation with quantum corrections reduced to second order.

We consider the Einstein equation with first-order (semiclassical) quantum corrections. Although the quantum corrections contain up to fourth-order derivatives of the metric, the solutions which are physically relevant satisfy reduced equations which contain derivatives no higher than second order. We obtain the reduced equations for a range of stress-energy tensors. These reduced equations are...

Killing Spinor Identities

We have found generic Killing spinor identities which bosonic equations of motion have to satisfy in supersymmetric theories if the solutions admit Killing spinors. Those identities constrain possible quantum corrections to bosonic solutions with unbroken supersymmetries. As an application we show that purely electric static extreme dilaton black holes may acquire specific quantum corrections, ...

It is known that any explicit averaging scheme of the type essential for describing the large scale behaviour of the Universe, must necessarily yield corrections to the Einstein equations applied in the Cosmological setting. The question of whether or not the resulting corrections to the Einstein equations are significant, is still a subject of debate, partly due to possible ambiguities in the ...
