چکیده

Introduction Vastly undersampled Isotropic Projection Reconstruction (VIPR) [1] techniques have been successfully utilized for time-resolved contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) studies. There are several benefits of a VIPR k-space trajectory, including the more benign nature of undersampling artifacts, which can facilitate higher undersampling factors. Due to the geometry of the legs, however, and the fact that the A/P extent of the image object is much smaller than the S/I or L/R extents, it has previously been thought that other k-space trajectories are more valuable for such an application. In this work we apply the VIPR k-space trajectory to peripheral runoff studies and apply HYPR LR [2] reconstruction to obtain images with isotropic spatial resolution and temporal resolution superior to those obtained by conventional time-resolved methods and other k-space trajectories. Materials and Methods Mathematically, the HYPR LR reconstruction algorithm can be represented as:

Time-resolved angiography: Past, present, and future.

The introduction of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in 1980 provided a method for real time 2D subtraction imaging. Later, 4D magnetic resonance (MR) angiography emerged beginning with techniques like Keyhole and time-resolved imaging of contrast kinetics (TRICKS) that provided frame rates of one every 5 seconds with limited spatial resolution. Undersampled radial acquisition was subseque...

HYPR-L0: A Hybrid Technique for CE MRA with Extreme Data Undersampling Factors

Introduction. Many clinical applications, most notably contrast-enhanced (CE) time-resolved angiographic imaging, would benefit from volumetric coverage with high spatial and temporal resolution to capture the rapid passage of contrast material. For many applications such as intracranial examinations, these requirements necessitate data undersampling by as much as 40-100 times in 2D. Image reco...

Image quality characterization in Time-Resolved 3D CE-MRA

TARGET AUDIENCE: Accelerated imaging and reconstruction techniques. PURPOSE: Time-resolved 3D contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) often requires highly accelerated imaging to achieve clinically required temporal and spatial resolutions. Recently developed non-linear reconstruction schemes, e.g. compressed sensing (CS) and HYPR, offer substantially greater acceleration than past methods bu...

HYPR PR-TRICKS: Highly Undersampled hybrid radial/Cartesian acquisition with HighlY constrained backPRojection reconstruction for time resolved MRI

INTRODUCTION In time-resolved MRI, there is a trade-off between spatial and temporal resolution due to requirement of the Nyquist theorem. Previously, we described a time-resolved hybrid radial/Cartesian acquisition, PR-TRICKS [1], which combines in-plane radially undersampled acquisition with through-plane Cartesian TRICKS acquisition to provide large undersampling factors. We have recently de...

Fast whole-brain 4D contrast-enhanced MR angiography with velocity encoding using undersampled radial acquisition and highly constrained projection reconstruction: image-quality assessment in volunteer subjects.

We report on the image quality obtained by using fast contrast-enhanced whole-brain 4D radial MRA with 0.75-second temporal resolution, isotropic submillimeter spatial resolution, and velocity encoding (HYPRFlow). Images generated by HYPR-LR by using the velocity-encoded data as the constraining image were of diagnostic quality. In addition, we demonstrate that measurements of shear stress with...
