چکیده

This paper presents the results of profile inversion of multi-frequency electromagnetic scatteredfield data, measured by the Institute Fresnel, Marseille, France, from cylindrical objects, both for TM andTE illuminations. The reconstructions are obtained by applying the Multiplicative Regularized Contrast SourceInversion (MR-CSI) method. The results show that the MR-CSI method successfully performs ‘blind’ inversion ofa wide class of scattered field data. Further, we also show that by inverting both TM and TE data simultaneously,a more accurate reconstructed image can be obtained.

Ultrawide-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar for Detection of Unexploded Ordnance: Modeling and Measurements

Electromagnetic (EM) scattering from subsurface unexploded ordnance (UXO) is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. Three EM models are considered: the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA), the method of moments (MoM), and physical optics (PO). The relative accuracy of these models is compared for several scattering scenarios. Moreover, the model results are compared to data...

Enhancing magnetic signals in unexploded ordnances (UXO) detection based on edge-preserved stable downward continuation method

This paper describes an efficient edge-preserved regularization algorithm for downward continuation of magnetic data in detection of unexploded ordnance (UXO). The magnetic anomalies arising from multi-source UXO can overlap at a height over the ground surface, while causative sources may not be readily separated due to low level of signal-to-noise ratio of the observed data. To effectively the...

Compressive inverse scattering using ultrashort pulses

Inverse scattering refers the retrieval of the unknown constitutive parameters from measured scattered wave fields, and has many applications such as ultrasound imaging, optics, T-ray imaging, radar, and etc. Two distinct imaging strategies have been commonly used: narrow band inverse scattering approaches using a large number of transmitters and receivers, or wideband imaging approaches with s...

Engineering of core/shell nanoparticles surface plasmon for increasing of light penetration depth in tissue (modeling and analysis)

Objectives: In this article, a new procedure for increasing the light penetration depth in a tissue is studied and simulated. It has been reported that the most important problem in biomedical optical imaging relates to the light penetration depth, and so this makes a dramatic restriction on its applications. In the optical imaging method, the detection of the backscattered pho...

Subspace and Bayesian Compressive Sensing Methods in Imaging

Compressive sensing is a new field in signal processing and applied mathematics. It allows one to simultaneously sample and compress signals which are known to have a sparse representation in a known basis or dictionary along with the subsequent recovery by linear programming (requiring polynomial (P) time) of the original signals with low or no error [1, 2, 3]. Compressive measurements or samp...
