Gravitational collapse of spherically symmetric clusters of rotating particles

چکیده
The end state of the gravitational collapse of spherically symmetric clusters of rotating particles, of the type first introduced by Einstein, is discussed here. For the marginally bound initial data the spectrum of naked singularities versus blackholes formation depends on two parameters, the “strength” of the angular momentum and the degree of inhomogeneity. For the first time, a structure confirming “genericity” of naked singularities formation in the case of a non-pressureless equation of state arises. Some recent results on this system are re-analyzed and the previously unknown nature of the singularities in their dust limit is obtained. E-mail : [email protected] E-mail : [email protected]

In this work, the gravitational collapse of a spherically symmetric null shell with the flat interior and a charged Vaidya exterior spacetimes is studied. There is no gravitational impulsive wave present on the null hypersurface which is shear-free and contracting. It follows that there is a critical radius at which the shell bounces and starts expanding.
متن کاملMode-Coupling in Realistic Rotating Gravitational Collapse
We analyze the mode-coupling phenomena in realistic rotating gravitational collapse. Physically, this phenomena is caused by the dragging of reference frames, due to the black-hole (or star’s) rotation. It is shown that different modes become coupled during the rotating collapse. As a consequence, the asymptotic late-time tails are dominated by modes which, in general, have an angular distribut...
متن کاملUniversal scaling and echoing in the gravitational collapse of a complex scalar field.
This paper studies the gravitational collapse of a complex scalar Beld at the threshold for black hole formation, assuming that the collapse is spherically symmetric and continuously self-similar. A new solution of the coupled Einstein-scalar Beld equations is derived, after a small amount of numerical work with ordinary difFerential equations. The universal scaling and echoing behavior discove...
متن کاملBlack holes vs . naked singularities formation in collapsing Einstein ’ s clusters
Non-static, spherically symmetric clusters of counter-rotating particles, of the type first introduced by Einstein, are analysed here. The initial data space can be pa-rameterized in terms of three arbitrary functions, namely; initial density, velocity and angular momentum profiles. The final state of collapse, black hole or naked singularity, turns out to depend on the order of the first non-v...
متن کاملRadiative tail of realistic rotating gravitational collapse
An astrophysically realistic model of wave dynamics in black-hole spacetimes must involve a nonspherical background geometry with angular momentum. We consider the evolution of gravitational (and electromagnetic) perturbations in rotating Kerr spacetimes. We show that a rotating Kerr black hole becomes "bald" slower than the corresponding spherically symmetric Schwarzschild black hole. Moreover...
