Motion Detection Independent of the Camera Movement with a Log- Polar Sensor
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper deals with a differential motion detection technique in log-polar coordinates which allows object motion tracking independently of certain camera movements. The method does not make use of any explicit estimation of the motion field, which can be calculated after the process only in those points belonging to the selfmoving object that is being tracked. The use of these coordinates makes the isolation of the object movement from the image displacement due to camera traslation along its own optical axis or to camera rotation around it. Experimental results on a sequence of real images are included, in which a moving object is detected and optical flow is calculated in log-polar coordinates only for the points of the moving object.

Detecting Motion Independent of the Camera Movement Through a Log-Polar Differential Approach
This paper is concerned with a diierential motion detection technique in log-polar coordinates which allows object motion tracking independently of the camera ego-motion when camera focus is along the movement direction. The method does not use any explicit estimation of the motion eld, which can be calculated afterwards at the moving points. The method, previously formulated in Cartesian coord...
متن کاملMotion detection by a moving observer using Kalman filter and neural network in soccer robot
In many autonomous mobile applications, robots must be capable of analyzing motion of moving objects in their environment. Duringmovement of robot the quality of images is affected by quakes of camera which cause high errors in image processing outputs. In thispaper, we propose a novel method to effectively overcome this problem using Neural Networks and Kalman Filtering theory. Thistechnique u...
متن کاملMotion Detection as an Application for the Omnidirectional Camera
In surveillance applications with omnidirectional cameras it is necessary to transform the omnidirectional images into panoramic ones, which are more suitable for human inspection. This transformation is redundant when using a camera with a space variant imager, i.e. with a log-polar density (SVAVISCA). Compared with a conventional camera, images taken with an omnidirectional camera have lower ...
متن کاملMotion Estimation-based Self-Calibration of a Log-polar Pan-Tilt Camera
Two topics intimately linked to active vision are spacevariant vision and mechanical devices. On the one hand, log-polar images is a biologically inspired space-variant imaging model featuring very attractive properties. On the other hand, pan-tilt heads are a common platform in active vision, allowing the observer to dynamically perceive the environment. In order to relate motor commands (for ...
متن کاملSpherical Panoramas for Pan-Tilt Camera Motion Compensation in Space-Variant Images
In active vision scenarios, the motion of the observer induces an apparent motion in the image plane. One approach for camera motion compensation is the use of panoramic images, representing the scene at the different positions of the camera. In this work, an approach to build spherical panoramic views from a pan-tilt camera is described, which is based on background updating techniques. Intere...
