A Case of Acute Septicæmia Due to the B. Pyocyaneus
نویسنده
چکیده
Cases of " cryptogenetic " septicaemia are always of interest, and the B. pyocyaneus is not one of the common organisms in septicaemia, although it has been found more frequently with the improvement of bacteriological methods. Muir and Ritchie state that the B. pyocyaneus is generally found in association with other microorganisms , but that it has been found lately in some diseases in children as a general infection in pure culture, the chief symptoms being fever, gastro-intestinal disturbances, hemorrhages, petechial or pustular eruptions, and general marasmus. More recently it has been found in many cases in adults as the sole cause of a general infection (septicaemia).

متن کاملPs. pyocyaneus eye infection.
FEW cases of corneal ulceration, proved to be of Ps. pyocyaneus origin, have been described. The case described below is similar to two reported by Ainslie and Smith (1952), and to ten reported by Bignell (1951), all of which were seen in London. The clinical history and appearance of the ulcer were so typical, and the response to Polymyxin B was so prompt that this case is considered worthy of...
