Walsh Sampling with Incomplete Noisy Signals
نویسنده
چکیده
With the advent of massive data outputs at a regular rate, admittedly, signal processing technology plays an increasingly key role. Nowadays, signals are not merely restricted to physical sources, they have been extended to digital sources as well. Under the general assumption of discrete statistical signal sources, we propose a practical problem of sampling incomplete noisy signals for which we do not know a priori and the sample size is bounded. We approach this sampling problem by Shannon’s channel coding theorem. Our main results demonstrate that it is the large Walsh coefficient(s) that characterize(s) discrete statistical signals, regardless of the signal sources. By the connection of Shannon’s theorem, we establish the necessary and sufficient condition for our generic sampling problem for the first time. Our generic sampling results find practical and powerful applications in not only cryptanalysis, but software system performance optimization.

Sampling with Walsh Transforms
With the advent of massive data outputs at a regular rate, admittedly, signal processing technology plays an increasingly important role. Nowadays, signals are not merely restricted to the physical domain, they have been extended to cover a much wider range of statistical sources (including financial signals, graph signals). Under the general assumption of discrete statistical signal sources, w...
متن کاملCosamp: Iterative Signal Recovery from Incomplete and Inaccurate Samples D. Needell and J. A. Tropp
Compressive sampling offers a new paradigm for acquiring signals that are compressible with respect to an orthonormal basis. The major algorithmic challenge in compressive sampling is to approximate a compressible signal from noisy samples. This paper describes a new iterative recovery algorithm called CoSaMP that delivers the same guarantees as the best optimization-based approaches. Moreover,...
متن کاملA Novel Method for Detection of Epilepsy in Short and Noisy EEG Signals Using Ordinal Pattern Analysis
Introduction: In this paper, a novel complexity measure is proposed to detect dynamical changes in nonlinear systems using ordinal pattern analysis of time series data taken from the system. Epilepsy is considered as a dynamical change in nonlinear and complex brain system. The ability of the proposed measure for characterizing the normal and epileptic EEG signals when the signal is short or is...
متن کاملEvaluation of Psychometric Properties of Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire
Background: Considering the importance of family resilience and the broader range of applications that focus on the resilience of families, in the current study, the introduction of resilience structure of the family has been identified as an essential research demand. Therefore, consideration of the psychometric properties of the most widely used tools in this area, including family resilience...
متن کاملA CLASS OF EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS IN INTERPOLATION , EXTRAPOLATION , AND SAMPLINGPaulo
The reconstruction of signals or images from incomplete or noisy data is a recurring problem in signal theory, with important practical applications. The band-limited interpolation and extrapola-tion problems, in which the signals or images are assumed to be band-limited, are among the most often studied reconstruction problems. We discuss certain aspects of these problems, concentrating on the...
