Multi-line fitting using polynomial phase transforms and downsampling

چکیده
A new signal processing method is developed for solving the multiline fitting problem in a two dimensional image. We first reformulate the former problem in a special parameter estimation framework such that a first order or a second order polynomial phase signal structure is obtained. Then, the recently developed algorithms in that formalism (and particularly the downsampling technique for high resolution frequency estimation) can be exploited to produce accurate estimates for line parameters. This method is able to estimate the parameters of parallel lines with different offsets and handles the quantization noise effect which can not be done by the sensor array processing technique introduced by Aghajan et al. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method.

This work deals with 2D object description and recognition based on coefficients of implicit polynomials (IP). We first improve the description abilities of recently published Min-Max and Min-Var algorithms by replacing algebraic distances by geometric ones in the relevant cost function. We show that a recognizer based on a full set of recently published linear, quadrature, and angular rotation...
متن کاملDetection and Estimation of Multi- Component Polynomial Phase Signals by Constructing Regular Cross Terms
A regular cross terms algorithm is derived for the parameter estimation of the multi-component polynomial phase signals in additive white Gaussian noise. The basic idea is first to separate its phase parameters into two sets by nonlinear proceduresand then each set has half of the parameters in its auto-terms. Furthermore, using two linear transforms to deal with the two signals respectively, t...

متن کاملSimulation of an Airy Beam with Optical Vortex under Fractional Fourier Transforms
First, this study obtained the fields of an Airy beam (AiB) with optical vortex (OV) for a Fourier transform (FT) system and a fractional Fourier transform (fractional FT) system; thereafter, their intensity and phase patterns were simulated numerically. The splitting on each line of the phase pattern indicates the position of an OV. The results show that the OV position will change when the po...
