چکیده

We study the charge and spin Seebeck effects in a spin-1 molecular junction as a function of temperature, appliedmagnetic field, andmagnetic anisotropy (D) usingWilson’s numerical renormalization group. A hard-axis magnetic anisotropy produces a large enhancement of the charge Seebeck coefficient Sc (∼kB/|e|) whose value only depends on the residual interaction between quasiparticles in the low-temperature Fermi-liquid regime. In the underscreened spin-1 Kondo regime, the high sensitivity of the system to magnetic fields makes it possible to observe a sizable value for the spin Seebeck coefficient even for magnetic fields much smaller than the Kondo temperature. Similar effects can be obtained in C60 junctions where the control parameter, instead of D, is the gap between a singlet and a triplet molecular state.

Spin Seebeck effect and thermoelectric phenomena in superconducting hybrids with magnetic textures or spin-orbit coupling

We theoretically consider the spin Seebeck effect, the charge Seebeck coefficient, and the thermoelectric figure of merit in superconducting hybrid structures including either magnetic textures or intrinsic spin-orbit coupling. We demonstrate that large magnitudes for all these quantities are obtainable in Josephson-based systems with either zero or a small externally applied magnetic field. Th...

On/off switching of bit readout in bias-enhanced tunnel magneto-Seebeck effect

Thermoelectric effects in magnetic tunnel junctions are promising to serve as the basis for logic devices or memories in a "green" information technology. However, up to now the readout contrast achieved with Seebeck effects was magnitudes smaller compared to the well-established tunnel magnetoresistance effect. Here, we resolve this problem by demonstrating that the tunnel magneto-Seebeck effe...

We study numerically the electronic heat capacity, spin and charge current in a diffusive Superconductor-Ferromagnetic-Superconductor systems، with singlet superconducting leads and non-uniform ferromagnetic layer. Specially, we focus on ferromagnetic layer with domain wall and conical structures incorporation the spin-active interfaces. We investigate, how the 0-π transition is influenced by n...

The spin Seebeck effect refers to the generation of a spin voltage caused by a temperature gradient in a ferromagnet, which enables the thermal injection of spin currents from the ferromagnet into an attached nonmagnetic metal over a macroscopic scale of several millimeters. The inverse spin Hall effect converts the injected spin current into a transverse charge voltage, thereby producing elect...

Reciprocal spin Hall effects in conductors with strong spin-orbit coupling: a review.

Spin Hall effect and its inverse provide essential means to convert charge to spin currents and vice versa, which serve as a primary function for spintronic phenomena such as the spin-torque ferromagnetic resonance and the spin Seebeck effect. These effects can oscillate magnetization or detect a thermally generated spin splitting in the chemical potential. Importantly this conversion process o...
